Chapter 74 I Would Choose Neither of You
Cordelia looked at Elijah in confusion and asked him with her
eyes.
There was anger in Elijah’s eyes, and he warned in a low voice, “Jacob, you are drunk. Let’s stop it here!”
Cordelia knew that Jacob was indeed drunk. After all, he was usually polite and gentle.
Jacob said, “You know more clearly than anyone that what I said is the truth.”
Jacob suddenly looked at Cordelia with reddish eyes. “Cordelia, do you know? My grandma told me that I liked you first, but Elijah’s grandmother talked with your grandmother about the engagement first.
“Later, my grandma also talked with your grandmother.
Because it was only a verbal agreement, they finally decided that when you grew up, you would marry whomever you liked. It was the Hansen family that snatched you away shamelessly!”
Cordelia was aware that Jacob didn’t really like her. He just regarded her as a toy and wanted to compete with Elijah.
Jacob still wanted to speak, but Cordelia interrupted him coldly,
“Jacob, don’t make trouble anymore. Since you can’t change the fact, why bother to mention the past?”
Jacob looked at Cordelia in astonishment. His lips trembled, and his eyes were full of sadness.
“You also said that what the elders meant was that I could marry whoever I like.” Cordelia looked at Jacob without any emotion in her eyes.
This was a tactful reminder and refusal, and Cordelia hoped Jacob could realize it.
As Elijah quietly looked at Cordelia’s side face, his eyes became more passionate.
Jacob supported his forehead, and his figure shook slightly.
In a red dress, Elissa stepped forward at this time. She put her arms around Jacob’s waist and supported him.
She said, “Jacob, you’re drunk. I’ll take you home.”
Elissa’s voice was soft and charming, which was attractive to
men.
As Jacob smiled, he put his arms around Elissa’s shoulders and staggered towards the outside.
It wasn’t until this moment that Cordelia felt that Elijah had held her hand tightly.
Cordelia looked down subconsciously, feeling a little dazed.
After everyone left, Elijah turned over her body and lowered his head to kiss her, but Cordelia turned her face away.
Elijah was stunned.
Cordelia’s voice was soft, but the words she spoke pierced through Elijah’s body like a sharp sword.
She said, “If I were given a chance to choose again now, I would choose neither of you!”
After speaking, Cordelia coldly withdrew her hand from Elijah’s palm. She turned around and left the box.
Elijah stared blankly at her back and muttered to himself, “You want to marry Eason, right?”
Unfortunately, she had no chance to choose again.
An earth-shattering sound came from the box, and the glassware shattered to the ground.
