"Liam! You investigated me!"
Amber was so angry that she couldn't care less about her manners.
How could he send someone to pry into her life?
Are all wealthy people so audacious?
"That's right. I've sent someone to look into your background. I know that you are 5'3 tall, and you weigh 100 pounds. You go to South X University. You're in your senior year, majoring in journalism and communication. You and your sister, Abby Curie, share the same father but have different mothers. Your mother left home and abandoned you when you were two years old. Your biological father and stepmother died in a car accident 12 years ago. Unfortunately, that same car accident also caused your sister to lose her sight."
Amber was so angry that her entire body was shaking!
She felt so naked in front of him now that he had revealed all of her past!
Seeing that Amber was quiet, Liam continued, "I even know that neither you nor your sister like egg yolks, and your sister's dream is to be a traveler. And you want more than anything to cure your sister's eyes so that she can fulfill her dreams."
"So?" Amber asked coldly as she controlled her breathing, trying to calm herself down.
"I came to help you achieve this dream. I've checked Abby's medical records. To cure both of her eyes, all she needs to do is go to the US and get an operation done. This surgery, with a 99.5% success rate in the US, is almost foolproof."
99.5%? Amber was stunned by the number. Her head buzzed as if a bolt of lightning had struck it.
"Does 99.5% mean..." Amber could feel her entire body quiver!
"Yes! I accept!" She shouted those words to Liam without hesitation, as though she was afraid that he would backtrack.
"I accept your offer. But you must ensure that my sister's eyesight is restored!"
Liam chuckled slightly on the other end of the phone. "No problem, I can sign a contract with you. Let's have a nominal marriage for six months, and I will never touch you throughout this period. After the contract is signed, I will arrange for someone to send your sister to Country M for surgery immediately. You may stay beside her during the entire process."
"Deal."
After hanging up the phone, a news notification popped up on Amber's phone.
"BREAKING NEWS: Liam Croft's new lover is a homewrecker!"
Soon, the news spread throughout City C. The headlines in every newspaper were news of Liam and her getting married.
Some dedicated reporters even made a specific feature story about both of them. They also released photos of the two of them at a hotel during Valentine's Day and analyzed the relationship between Liam, Mia, Amber, and Oliver in detail.
As a result, Amber became a shameless gold-digger who pushed herself onto the wealthy CEO, while Mia and Oliver became the deeply hurting and abandoned exes.
Only Liam, who had managed to escape all blame and scorn, was portrayed as the perfect gentleman who was forced to pay a price out of obligation, even though he was being tricked.
As soon as Amber arrived in the classroom, everyone was in a frenzy. Her best friend, Emma, pulled her by the arm and screamed excitedly, "Amber! When did you hook up with Liam? Isn't he the CEO of the Waston Group? He is the most sought-after bachelor of the city! How did you become his fiancée?"
Before Amber could answer, a group of gossipers gathered around and asked, "Is the news on the papers true? Why did Liam’s ex-fiancée willingly let go of her position?"
"Only a silhouette of Liam was published in the newspaper. Is he handsome in person? How tall is he? Have you guys had sex?"
