What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 348

Josephine went after Lewis, but he had already left.

As if afraid that she would give chase, Mrs. Larson stood in her way, seemingly respectful but ready to stop her if she took another step.

Josephine turned toward her and signed, "Where is he going?"

Why would he leave so soon after arriving home?

Mrs. Larson laughed hollowly. "I don't have the answer to that. It's late now and time for bed, madam."

Josephine gazed at the entrance hesitantly. She didn't want to sleep yet.

But Mrs. Larson was already leading her upstairs. Josephine could only head upstairs under Mrs. Larson's push and shove.

It was still raining outside. Lying in bed, Josephine tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.

Lewis had been by her side all this while, but she was alone now. Only she and Mrs. Larson were in this massive mansion, magnifying the barrenness of the space.

After leaving Styx Mansion, Lewis drove toward Quintin's house.

Damian was in great shock at Quintin's actions. The news had blown up the internet when he found out, and it was too late to do anything by then.

Naturally, Quintin wouldn't have the courage to return home and decided to hide after causing such a commotion.

Worried that he would encounter hardship, Hilary bought him this house and secretly allowed him to stay in it.

It was the only place he could be right now.

Phineas lingered outside, not daring to leave.

He hesitated between knocking down the door and picking the lock. Whichever it was, he must enter and beat Quintin into a pulp.

At that moment, Lewis arrived.

Phineas immediately stood upright. He couldn't help but shudder when he sensed the murderous air enshrouding Lewis. "S-Sir."

Lewis came to the door, the air surrounding him frosty and scaring the wits out of Phineas. "Kick the door open."

Phineas was stunned. He nodded right after and started kicking the door.

He made a clamoring noise. Hiding in his room, Quintin heard the noise and felt a sense of foreboding.

He quickly ran to the window and opened it. Looking out, he could see nothing beneath. Darkness overwhelmed everything.

However, he was fortunate that he was only on the second floor. He scanned his surroundings, and his gaze fell on the curtains beside him.

The lock on the front door was password-based, and the alarm blared after Phineas gave it several kicks.

Phineas hesitated and looked at Lewis.

"Go on."

Gritting his teeth, Phineas continued. He made such a racket that the neighbors started looking out from their houses. However, they silently drew back when they saw Lewis' brooding face.

After the tenth kick, the door opened with a clang.

Phineas instantly opened the door and ran in.

The divorce agreements were still on the coffee table with a line of enlarged words written across it, "Divorce? Over my dead body!" Large letters scrawled over the page and covered the original print on the agreement.

Seeing that, Phineas searched the house, but Quintin was nowhere to be seen. He noticed the window was wide open. "He …" Phineas cast a nervous glance at the man beside him.

Lewis was staring at the curtains lying on the floor. His face darkened, and he didn't utter a word. The chilly air sent goosebumps crawling over Phineas' scalp.

Phineas had no doubts that Lewis would definitely strangle Quintin to death had he been here.

He guessed, "That punk must've known you were after him, so he fled."

Lewis kept quiet.
