What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 382

Lewis watched her impassively and witnessed her tear off another page.

Conrad stole a glimpse at Lewis. Wasn't he going to stop her?

When Josephine took yet another document, Conrad could finally take it no more and lunged forward to hold onto it. His voice trembled as he said, "Y-You can't tear this!" That was an agreement for a government tender. He couldn't do anything if she tore it.

She glanced at him, confused and wondering why he was so afraid. But she released her hold on the document. There were many more on the desk anyway.

Conrad held the document in his arms as he wiped off the cold sweat from his forehead, trembling from the fright. He sheepishly asked Lewis, "Sir, should I tidy the table for you? I'll keep the more important documents away." Although his smile was unwavering, he secretly grumbled, "He can definitely keep the madam entertained by allowing her to rip apart these documents, but I'll have a handful after this."

It didn't matter to Lewis as he would only have to give Conrad the orders.

Lewis checked his watch and said, "Go ahead." Then, he added, "Oh, right. Has Quintin signed the divorce agreement?"

Josephine's ears perked up at the mention of Quintin's name. She stared intently at Lewis.

Conrad replied, "I'll phone him to follow up later. But it won't be much of a hassle with Mr. Fowler's help."

Lewis nodded slightly. Then, he went to Josephine, pulled her up, and led her out. "Let's go and have something to eat."

She quickly followed, hugging the tablet in her arms. They went to the parking lot. Lewis received Nancy's call when he had just entered the car. He connected his phone to the car via Bluetooth and drove out of the parking lot as Nancy's voice rang out. "Lewis, have you contacted your father recently? That geezer hasn't been home for more than ten days, and I can't reach him by phone either! Where the hell is he?"

Lewis replied calmly, "No, I haven't. Have you been unable to contact him?"

"I wouldn't be calling you if I could reach him. Come back tonight, and let's talk about the possibility of him eloping with his mistress."

Robert no longer had to care about the company since he had let go of his duties. He also had a considerable amount of fortune, so he could definitely run away with his wealth and mistress to somewhere he could enjoy himself to the fullest.

"Right. Let's talk about it when I'm back." Lewis directly hung up after that. He wasn't in a rush to return to Alvarez Manor. Instead, he took Josephine to a restaurant.

However, Josephine had eaten too many snacks in the afternoon. She could barely eat a few mouthfuls at the restaurant before she was full. She preferred snacks over regular meals.

Meanwhile, Damian and Hilary were begging Quintin, who they grounded, to open the door. It was because of the divorce agreement Conrad gave them.

Damian bet his bottom dollar that he could ensure Quintin signed the divorce agreement. However, it had been nearly a week, yet Quintin still refused to sign it.

Furthermore, under their coercion, Quintin had locked himself inside his room and had gone without water or food for three days.

Damian was like a cat on a hot tin roof.

"Quintin, can you please open the door and listen to me?" Hilary was in tears out of panic. She tried her best to coax Quintin to open the door but to no avail. Quintin hadn't eaten or drunk for three days. She was worried about him.

They grew even more anxious when no response came from the other side of the door.

Damian kicked the door furiously and said to the butler, "Get me an axe and smash the door open!"
