Bewildered, Josephine lifted her head and looked at the man with teary eyes. She didn't recognize this person.
Quintin noticed her confused expression and felt a bit puzzled.
"Don't tell me you don't recognize me again." Quintin stared at her strangely. It had only been a few days, and she had forgotten him already.
Josephine's reaction confirmed his suspicion; she indeed didn't know him.
Josephine tilted her head and observed Quintin. She wiped the tears from her face and got up from the ground.
Quintin was about to say something when Lewis suddenly appeared.
"What did you do?" Lewis glared at Quintin with displeasure. He hadn't witnessed what had happened between the two and only saw Josephine crying.
Quintin hurriedly explained, "I didn't do anything. We just accidentally collided. What's wrong with her? She doesn't remember me again."
Lewis cast him a cold glare. "Why should she remember you?"
"I ..." Quintin stuttered. However, he quickly regained his composure and retorted confidently, "Because I am her husband now."
His identity as Josephine's husband was the only trump card he had to challenge Lewis.
Lewis' face turned dark at his response.
"Now that you mention it, Mr. Fowler said you were bedridden and couldn't come to sign the divorce papers. But you seem pretty lively and energetic to me now. I suppose you've recovered from your illness."
Quintin hesitated for a moment, as he could probably guess what Lewis was going to say. He immediately turned to run away.
Yet seconds later, a force struck his bottom, causing him to lose balance and fly out.
He landed heavily on the ground and slid about three feet across the floor.
The commotion drew a crowd, and people gathered to witness the fight inside the mall.
Josephine was shocked too. Her eyes widened as she looked at Quintin and Lewis.
Lewis' face turned gloomy, and he emanated a menacing presence. Frightened, Josephine shivered and quietly moved behind the escalator to hide.
Quintin groaned in pain as he lay on the ground, unable to get up.
Just as he was recovering, Lewis approached him from behind, grabbed his collar, and yanked him up.
"Quintin, you keep going against me. Do you really think I wouldn't dare to touch you?"
Quintin glared at Lewis with a pained grin. "Do it then!"
Lewis sneered and threw Quintin back to the ground forcefully.
Then, he pressed one foot on Quintin's chest, preventing him from getting up.
The pressure was intense that Quintin thought his chest was about to be crushed.
Lewis bent down slightly and looked coldly at him. "Let me repeat myself. Will you divorce her or not?"
Quintin grimaced in pain but kept his determined gaze on Lewis. He managed to say through gritted teeth, "I won't."
Lewis chuckled. "Very well."
Quintin's eyes narrowed. He could clearly see the killing intent in Lewis' eyes. No doubt, he was afraid.
However, Quintin had always been rebellious by nature. Even if he were scared, he would never compromise or admit defeat.
At the same time, a group of people emerged from the other side, seemingly searching for something.
Quintin spotted them at a glance. They were none other than the men Damian sent to chase after him.
He had been trying to avoid them earlier, but never did he expect he would bump into Josephine. He felt so relieved seeing them now.
He was about to cry for help, but Lewis had also noticed the approaching group. He exerted more pressure on Quintin's chest, causing Quintin to scream in pain.
Just then, Conrad arrived. Lewis grabbed Quintin and tossed him to Conrad before instructing, "Take him away."
