Josephine sobbed, and tears rolled down her cheeks.
The wind from the window kept blowing into the room, giving her goosebumps.
The two men held her down, and all her struggles were in vain.
One of the men looked at her beautiful figure and gulped. Soon, madness took over the last trace of rationality in his mind.
Even though Josephine was mentally ill, she was a heavenly beauty!
He couldn't wait any longer and quickly started taking off his clothes. However, a loud noise came from outside as he was stripping.
The two of them were so scared that they almost got turned off.
"Damn it!" one of them cursed, and the next second, another loud noise resounded.
Finally realizing something was wrong, they quickly put on their clothes, grabbed a damp blanket, and hid Josephine inside.
Then, they rushed to the door, but as soon as their hands touched the doorknob, another bang rang out. The door was forcibly broken open, sending one of the guys flying out.
"Ah!"
The man screamed in pain as he was flung far away by the impact of the door and fell unconscious on the ground.
Looking at his bloodied companion on the ground, the other man stood frozen before glancing at the people at the door.
Two people stood at the door, and they didn't look friendly.
"Who are ..." The man's words got cut off as Phineas stepped forward and kicked him in the face.
The man fell heavily to the ground, clutching his stomach and groaning in pain.
Phineas didn't stop there. He grabbed the man's collar and delivered two more blows to his face.
His punches were forceful, and the man's nose started bleeding after the first hit.
"How dare you even lay a hand on Mrs. Alvarez? You must have a death wish!"
Phineas' sent a shiver down the man's spine. He stared at Conrad fearfully.
He had no idea who Josephine was. Wasn't she just a mentally ill woman?
Phineas didn't give the man any time to regret his actions. He pushed the man down to the ground and delivered a series of punches, causing him to cry in agony.
Meanwhile, Lewis had already approached the bed behind them and uncovered the blanket, revealing Josephine's scantily clad body.
She looked at Lewis with tearful eyes. Her eyes were red, her mouth gagged, and her hands were bound behind her back. She curled up like a helpless little shrimp.
Lewis' expression remained stern, and he didn't say a word.
He removed the pants from Josephine's mouth and untied the ropes around her wrists, which had left deep marks due to her intense struggles.
Josephine immediately threw herself into his arms and cried aggrievedly.
His scent was pleasant as usual. It carried a refreshing fragrance that seemed to disperse the foul smell in the room.
At first, Lewis was raging with anger, but as Josephine clung to him and cried, his anger gradually dissipated. He felt somewhat helpless instead.
Lewis let her cry for a while. Sighing, he gently patted her back.
He delicately pulled Josephine away from him, helped her get dressed, and lifted her in his arms before walking out of the room.
The man on the ground looked miserable, with blood all over his face. Phineas sat above him and asked, "Chairman Alvarez, how should we deal with these two?"
"Chop them into pieces and feed them to the dogs."
Lewis didn't even look back when he uttered those cruel words. Phineas shuddered upon hearing them.
Phineas' thoughts wandered to the dogs up on the hill.
As Josephine was injured, those dogs were left starving for almost half a month, and a third had died.
Now, there were only a few dogs left alive.
Yet, besides the dogs, other animals could feed on the guys.
Josephine returned to the car. Sitting quietly in the passenger seat, she became much more obedient now. She anxiously fidgeted with her fingers.
Lewis fastened his seatbelt and turned to look at her.
"Will you run away again in the future?"
Josephine shook her head vigorously.
