What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 408

Chatters broke out in the room. It was chaotic.

Lewis calmly smoked his cigarette and watched their performance as if observing acrobatic clowns.

The conversation carried on for quite some time. After realizing that Lewis was silent, they gradually quieted down.

Finally, all eyes turned to Lewis.

"Well, what do you say, Lewis? We'll take this to court if you don't divide the inheritance."

Casually flicking the cigarette ash into the ashtray, Lewis pondered briefly before saying, "Since you're so desperate, go ahead and show me the so-called paternity test. I've hired a lawyer, and I'd like him to verify whether your paternity tests are genuine or fake."

Those people had come prepared to divide the inheritance, so naturally, they carried the paternity tests with them.

Thinking that Lewis was giving in, the woman who started it all immediately took out her paternity test from her bag.

"Take a look for yourself!"

Lewis received the paternity test. It had deep creases but seemed relatively new, indicating that it had been well-preserved.

Others also handed over their paternity tests, except for a few who couldn't provide any, either due to being unprepared or, perhaps, simply trying to fish in troubled waters.

Lewis went through them one by one until Phineas arrived with his lawyer.

"Chairman Alvarez," Phineas greeted Lewis as he approached.

Lewis handed the paternity tests to Phineas, who understood his intentions immediately. He casually glanced at the paternity tests and tore them into pieces before everyone.

The sound of tearing paper echoed in the room, shocking everyone present.

"What are you doing?"

Someone became agitated and tried to rush forward but was stopped by a few bodyguards who suddenly appeared.

Lewis looked at them coldly. "Next time, remember to bring photocopies. If it is the original copy, you might lose it."

"You've gone too far!"

"Who are you to destroy our things? Believe me. I will sue you!"

"You can't do things like this! We only want a portion of the inheritance, not everything. You're forcing us into a corner!"

Lewis leaned back nonchalantly and spoke slowly, "Good. I was just about to consult my lawyer here. How should we deal with people who impersonate relatives and cause disturbances?"

The lawyer responded, "If they try to cause disturbances, they could be imprisoned for five to ten years."

"When did we ever cause any disturbances? We are here to reason with you!"

"That's right. We are entitled to receive the inheritance. We simply want to secure our fair share!"

Lewis uttered, "You said you're entitled. Do you have any evidence to support your claims?"

"You just tore it apart!"

Lewis frowned. "Watch your mouth. If you can't produce evidence, you'll face defamation charges too."

Suddenly, a man rushed forward and pointed at Lewis angrily. "You're shameless!"

This man appeared to be in his twenties, and surprisingly, he bore a resemblance to Lewis.

Lewis smiled faintly. "And who are you?"

Michael Alvarez replied in an unfriendly manner, "It's none of your business who I am! Let me tell you, I only wanted 100 million at first, but now, I want a billion!"

He was indeed Robert's son, but unfortunately, he didn't inherit the features Robert admired.

Upon discovering he was Robert's son, Michael chose to lead a carefree life and didn't bother studying or working.
