What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 424

Josephine was miffed and tried to squirm out of his grasp. She really needed the toilet! She wondered if Lewis had grown stupid as he didn't seem to understand what she said.

Lewis' kiss burned with passion. He was like a wolf starved for hundreds of years while she was his prey. Josephine slowly grew out of breath, yet she couldn't do anything as he held her firmly.

Just when she was about to pass out from the lack of air, Lewis finally backed down slightly. He started landing kisses on her neck instead.

Josephine's face was a bright red as she gasped for air. Fidgety, she murmured, "Lewis."

Lewis looked up to meet her bashful gaze and moist lips. He hesitated for a split second before asking, "What is it?"

With her face as red as an apple, she replied, "I can't hold it in any longer …"

Stunned, Lewis was at a loss for words.

To Josephine, nothing was more embarrassing than what just happened.

In a different room, she hid beneath the blanket with her face a brilliant shade of red.

Lewis tried to pull the blanket off her, but she snatched it and covered herself again.

Lewis insisted on removing it. He was afraid she would suffocate herself.

Josephine shrank further back into her shell. After several seconds, her head popped out, and she stared at Lewis. "Don't tell anyone."

Lewis pressed his lips together and fixed his gaze on her.

She reached out from under the blanket and tugged his pajama. "Did you hear me? Don't tell anyone, okay? Or I won't talk to you anymore."

Lewis' gaze fell on her blushing cheeks with eyes swirling with emotions.

He leaned closer to Josephine and held her chin as he studied her pinkish lips. He murmured, "Then, promise me."

"What?"

"That you'll take the herbal concoction every day obediently."

Josephine's eyes widened, and she wilted, returning his gaze with a look of despair.

"If you don't, I'll tell everyone you wet the bed."

Josephine pricked up her ears at that and quickly grabbed his arm. She sounded like she was on the verge of bursting into tears as she warned, "No! You must not!"

"Then, can I have your word?"

"I … B-but you're the one who stopped me from going to the toilet!"

There was a glint in his eyes. "So?"

"Meanie!" Josephine was upset. She shoved him. "I'm not sleeping on the same bed as you anymore!"

Lewis grabbed her hand and pressed on, "Do you promise?"

Josephine tried to wrestle her hand from his grasp but failed.

After several moments of internal struggle, she nodded pitifully. She could only give in as she didn't want anyone else to know about the embarrassment she just went through.

"Alright, alright. Don't tell anyone. Can you promise?"

A smile formed on Lewis' lips. "Sure."

Josephine extended her little finger. "Pinky promise. Whoever breaks the promise will turn into a toad."
