What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 465

Lewis stroked his watch and looked contemplative as he stared into the distance.

He asked out of nowhere, "Conrad, how long do you think she will stay in Elysium?"

His abrupt question caught Conrad off guard. He followed Lewis' line of sight and realized he was talking about Josephine.

Josephine and the rest of the staff joined the shoot as extras. Afraid that Josephine would steal the limelight from her, Yona insisted on having Josephine look the other way.

Listless, Josephine changed her position and turned her back to the camera.

She only wanted the shoot to end as soon as possible so she could return to the office. It was much too boring here.

However, it was all wishful thinking on her end. The shoot ended up lasting for seven hours though they were only filming one episode. They even had to switch to another film set midway.

Also, Lewis was watching. The team didn't dare to leave work early.

With Yona doing her best to perform, the shooting went quite smoothly. Now that they had to change scenes, Josephine had to help carry the props again as she ran along with the others.

Wendy came over and passed her the reflector. "Take this. It's lighter."

Josephine glanced at her and shook her head. "It's okay. This thing isn't that heavy."

"Are you sure? We have to walk there, you know. It's 20 minutes on foot. Are you sure you can do it?"

"Yes, I can."

Josephine was carrying lighting equipment and some smaller props. They weighed a bit but were still manageable.

Seeing Josephine's determination, Wendy didn't press on. She subconsciously looked toward where Lewis previously sat and realized he was gone.

"He finally left. I'd never been this nervous ever since I joined this place. Geez!" Wendy exclaimed.

Josephine knew who she was talking about. She turned to look as well. Indeed, the seat by the café was empty.

She didn't know when Lewis had left, but she eventually withdrew her gaze and kept up with the others, carrying the props as she did.

Wendy babbled on as she walked beside her. "The chairman is pretty gorgeous, though. I think he looked even better than those actors I always see on TV."

Wendy then gave an exaggerated sigh before continuing, "It's too bad that he has terrible taste in women."

Josephine opened her mouth to say something at that. But she realized that there wasn't anything she could really say. She simply shut her mouth and sped up her footsteps instead.

Wendy could tell that Josephine didn't seem to like to talk much. There weren't many women on the team, so Wendy wanted to become friends with Josephine the minute she joined.

The second filming location was not far. It was Jay's solo scene. Another male colleague was acting alongside him as his assistant.

Yona was not needed for the next scene. When she saw Josephine and Wendy talking in a corner, she walked toward them.

"Hey, newbie! Get me a bottle of water," Yona instructed Josephine as she grabbed a nearby folding chair to sit on.

Josephine shot her a look before replying, "There's a bottle of water right there."

Indeed, there was a bottle of water to the left of Yona, just a few steps away. Yona could easily take it on her own. She simply had to stand up and walk to get it.

Yona was already in a terrible mood. Ever since Lewis' arrival on set just now, the team had very obviously changed how they treated her, and now this newbie was openly defying her?

"I don't want that bottle. Go get me a bottle of Coke."

Josephine didn't move. She looked away before she replied mildly, "Get it yourself."

Yona shot to her feet before she exclaimed, "You're Josephine Vance, right? Newbies are supposed to run errands for the cast members! What makes you think that you can defy my instructions?"

Josephine turned to face her again before she asked, "Who decided that newbies should be the ones to run errands for cast members? You're not paying me, nor are you my superior. Why should I listen to you?"

"You …" Yona began angrily.

Wendy saw that the situation was about to get messy and immediately tried to keep the peace.
