Josephine was blissfully unaware of everything that was going on with Lewis. After arriving at the office, Nicolas approached her to inform her that she would be Yona's assistant.
She had expected this, so she didn't react much. She simply asked, "Can I say no?"
Nicolas replied, "Actually, I wanted the company to sign you as an influencer here, but Mr. Allen said no. As such, you can only go with what the company has arranged for you."
Nicolas studied her as he spoke, adding, "You don't look like you're in desperate need of money. If you really can't stand it, don't force yourself to stay."
His insinuation was clear. She could just quit if she didn't agree to be Yona's assistant.
Though Josephine's clothes looked quite plain, it was not cheap. Her clothing can easily cost him a few months of his salary. As such, Nicolas fully expected her to just quit if she couldn't stand working for Yona.
Josephine was silent for a while before she nodded in agreement. "Alright, I'll do it."
Nicolas was shocked when he heard that. He asked, "You've thought about it already?"
"Since I'm working here, I have to obey the arrangements that have been made for me. I'll be her assistant."
Nicolas looked at her in admiration before saying, "If that's the case, then your first task would be to ask her to come now." He huffed in annoyance before adding, "Getting her to come and film her parts every day is a challenge in itself."
Josephine nodded and then took a taxi to Yona's house. She had been there before, so she easily found Yona's place.
She rang the doorbell when she arrived but was met with no response. As such, she knocked on the door instead. After a while of knocking, Yona finally couldn't stand it anymore and pulled the front door open.
"You're so annoying! Why are you knocking so much?" Yona asked unpleasantly. She had received news this morning that Josephine was her new assistant and she had been waiting for her.
Josephine ignored her and simply replied, "Mr. Lager has asked me to get you to go to the filming site."
Yona took in Josephine's appearance, and a hint of a smile graced her face.
"I thought that you would be dignified and choose not to come to work for me at all. Just yesterday, you refused to buy me a drink, but today you're at my house asking me to go to work," Josephine mocked.
"Yesterday's events were in the past. Today's events are what matters. I'm just doing my job. So, are you going to work?" Josephine replied.
"Just wait for me!" Yona huffed as she slammed the door, leaving Josephine outside.
She was intentionally making things hard for Josephine. Josephine would have to stand outside her house until Yona felt like leaving.
However, Josephine was completely unfazed and simply walked to the café downstairs to order herself a cup of coffee and watch videos on her phone.
Time flew when she was on her phone. She felt like it hadn't been long, but it had already been three hours.
During that time, Nicolas had called to rush her. Josephine explained that Yona had told her to wait and didn't allow her to enter the house.
As such, Nicolas also stopped calling. He knew Yona's personality well. He only asked Josephine to come up with a way to get Yona to go to work.
Yona thought Josephine would wait outside her house for three hours. She was shocked when she didn't see Josephine when she opened the doors three hours later.
Her shock eventually morphed into anger, and she seethed, "This bitch!"
Yona put on her shoes and grabbed her bag before stomping out and calling Josephine.
After the line connected, Yona's furious voice rang out, "Josephine! Where the hell are you? I asked you to wait for me, and you left? What type of assistant are you?"
"I didn't leave. I'm in the café downstairs," Josephine replied coolly.
That only served to infuriate Yona even more. She had forced herself to stay inside with no food for three hours. Yet, Josephine was happily sipping coffee downstairs.
"You …" Yona began but couldn't find the words to say.
Josephine's tone remained calm and collected as she asked, "Have you packed your things? If you're not done, I can wait a bit longer."
Yona was furious and hung up the phone.
