Yona remained rooted to the spot for a long while. She only came back to her senses after Josephine had left.
She had had many assistants, but this was the first time she had an assistant like Josephine. In the past, she was the one bullying others. Yet, this time, she was working herself into a fit all because of Josephine.
That made Yona feel like she had lost all footing in the company. She was an influencer with thousands of fans, so why was she treated like this? As such, she immediately pulled out her phone to report this matter to Albert.
Albert couldn't care less about her problems. He simply told her she could change assistants if she weren't happy with Josephine. Albert's nonchalance only made Yona angrier.
Based on Josephine's attitude, it was clear she wasn't afraid to lose her job, so what was the point in firing her? Moreover, it was even more difficult for Yona to make Josephine's life miserable if Josephine didn't mind getting fired.
Josephine didn't care how Yona would go home or settle her meals. She went to the parking lot, where Conrad was already waiting.
This time, besides the herbal concoction, there was also a food container.
Josephine took the boxes from Conrad and got into the car to avoid being seen by anyone else.
She closed the door, took a few bites of the food, and finished her medicine before finally getting out of the car.
Conrad smiled as he asked, "Madam, how was work today?"
He was still under the impression that Josephine was the mute woman from before who couldn't live on her own.
There was a pause before Josephine turned and replied, "It's alright."
Conrad could sense the frost in her tone. His heart clenched, but he maintained his smile and replied, "That's good to hear."
Josephine ignored him and went back to the filming site.
Today, they were filming in a new location—a picturesque garden. When Josephine arrived, she realized that no one else had come yet. Yona was also nowhere to be found.
Work only started at 2:00 pm. It was only a little over 12:30 pm now. As such, she pulled out her phone to search for the distance between her current location and the hospital.
In the end, she asked one of the security guards nearby to send her to the hospital to visit Avery. After all, she hadn't been there to see her in two days.
Avery was recovering well. Even though she still had her cast on, she looked much better. She could even go to the bathroom alone with minimal assistance from the nurse.
Avery's expression brightened when she saw Josephine. She exclaimed in delight, "Josie!"
Avery tried to get off her bed to walk toward Josephine, but Josephine rushed to help her back onto the bed.
"Don't move around like that!" Josephine chided.
Avery flashed her a brilliant smile and motioned for Josephine to sit beside her. "Oh, there's no need to fret. I feel much better already! Don't worry. I can be discharged from the hospital soon!"
Seeing how energetic Avery was made Josephine smile. Josephine said, "I'm so glad to see that you're recovering well!"
Avery still couldn't move both of her arms. She studied Josephine's appearance before letting out an exaggerated sigh.
"You've gotten skinnier," Avery lamented.
Josephine was surprised and raised a hand to touch her cheeks. "It's only been two days. How can you tell that I've gotten skinnier?"
Avery nodded. "I think you've lost weight. You have to eat well, don't starve yourself. Make sure you take care of your own body. As for that bastard, he can do whatever he wants but don't let yourself suffer because of him."
Josephine fell silent at that.
Avery thought her silence meant she was unhappy because of Lewis, and she chided her again.
