The first person they saw wasn't Lewis but Phineas. Following him were a group of bodyguards. Finally, Lewis appeared.
Clad in his black suit, he strode over in his long legs.
Henry's pupils trembled as he saw Lewis. Then he glanced at Josephine beside him.
Josephine struggled, and Henry dared not continue holding her. He released his grip.
Now that Lewis was here, she must be really Lewis' wife.
Regaining her freedom, Josephine hurriedly ran to Lewis' side.
Seeing this, Henry forced a smile. "Oh, Chairman Alvarez, what brings you here?"
Lewis gave Josephine a quick glance. He gauged her condition and turned his gaze toward Henry. He smiled faintly.
"Mr. Brown, you've detained my people here. Had I not arrived in time, would you have used this thing on her?"
Henry seemed somewhat flustered. He chuckled and tossed the syringe onto the table. "No way. I was only joking with Mrs. Alvarez."
As he finished speaking, he suddenly realized something. He motioned to his subordinates, "Release them immediately!"
His subordinates promptly complied, allowing Lewis' bodyguards to regain their freedom. The two disheveled bodyguards joined Lewis, looking apologetic.
"We apologize, Mr. Lewis. We failed to protect Mrs. Alvarez."
Lewis raised his hand and signaled for the others to leave. "Take Mrs. Alvarez home."
Henry's face turned pale. He wanted to stop them, but Lewis continued, "Mr. Brown and I have some private matters to discuss. Please leave."
Lewis' men exited the private room. Josephine looked at Lewis hesitantly until Arrik called her. She averted her gaze and followed them out.
Once everyone left, Henry realized Lewis really had something to talk to him about. He gestured to his men, signaling them to exit the room too. Even the two influencers followed suit.
"Chairman Alvarez, have a seat."
Lewis didn't stand on ceremony either. He casually chose a spot and sat down.
Henry asked, "Chairman Alvarez, what do you want to discuss with me?"
"A deal."
"What deal?"
Lewis crossed his legs and looked at Henry calmly. "Tell me where Kiran is, and I'll ..."
His gaze landed on the syringe on the table. "I'll turn a blind eye to what happened today."
Hearing that, Henry couldn't help but chuckle. He thought the deal sounded more like a threat.
"Kiran? Isn't he dead? Chairman Alvarez, did you make a mistake?" Henry gave him a skeptical look.
Lewis contemplated for a moment. "Mr. Brown, let's not beat around the bush. If you don't know his whereabouts, how did you become associated with Sally?"
Henry took a cigar and leisurely cut the end. After thinking for a while, he said, "I've never seen Kiran. As for Sally, you mean Yona, right? Mr. Garcia from Quaddew Productions introduced her to me."
"I noticed Yona had quite some followers online, so I chatted with her. She expressed interest in signing with our company, but her penalty for breaking her contract was too high. After careful consideration, I declined her offer."
Lewis nodded. "And then?"
Henry continued, "It was nothing much after that. Out of respect for Mr. Garcia, we had a few drinks together. What's the matter, Chairman Alvarez? Do you suspect I have some connection with that Kiran?"
Lewis observed him thoughtfully, and after a moment, he smiled. "It's all a misunderstanding. It seems like you indeed haven't crossed paths with Kiran."
"Haha, it's indeed a big misunderstanding. Chairman Alvarez, I don't have anything to offer you today. Let me raise a toast to you."
