“Mark, I couldn’t attend your birthday party, so I bought a small gift for you. I hope you like it.”

Elaine quickly takes out a beautifully wrapped gift from her bag and passes it to Mark.

Elaine rolls her eyes, wanting to talk back. But she doesn’t want to look fierce in front of Mark.

Mark hesitates for a moment.
