Chapter 326 Cedrick Is Awake And Mad 

He had no choice but to go over and whisper, “Ms. Gwendolyn, wake up. We have to leave now.”

Gwendolyn was sleeping lightly due to the uncomfortable position. Thus, she was easily awakened by Nico. 

After giving her sore arms and back a rub, she carefully emerged from underneath the blanket with Nico’s help. 

Just as she put on her slippers and got to her feet, she realized that Cedrick was still holding onto the corner of her sleeve. 

Cedrick, whom she had settled down on the pillow, was furrowing his brows tightly and groaning. 

The sight of his boss in such a condition elicited a sigh from the distraught Nico. 

As for Gwendolyn, Cedrick’s reaction pained her even more. She felt the urge to pull him into her embrace, where she would kiss him and whisper sweet nothings. All she wanted to do was stay by his side forever. 

Unfortunately, it was getting late. She and Nico had to rush to the airport to board their flight. 

When she tried to peel Cedrick’s hands away, she failed to do so despite attempting twice. 

The latter’s grip was just too tight. 

“Gwenny, don’t go and see him. Don’t leave…” Cedrick repeated stubbornly in his sleep. 

Gwendolyn’s fingers trembled as she tried to hold back her tears. She didn’t dare pry too forcefully for fear of waking him. 

Treyton walked in all of a sudden and reminded her, “Kiddo, you’ll miss the flight if you don’t leave now. With me and Kieran around, no harm will come to him.” 

Steeling her heart, Gwendolyn spoke in a calm voice to the sleeping Cedrick. “Ceddy, be good now. I’m not leaving. I’m just going to the bathroom and will be back shortly.” 

The moment she finished, Gwendolyn ignored the presence of the others as she leaned in to give Cedrick a reassuring kiss, filling the room with a passionate air. 

Stunned by the sight, Nico scratched his nose awkwardly before throwing Treyton a glance. 

Despite the frown on the latter’s face that clearly demonstrated his displeasure, Treyton didn’t say a word. 

At the end of the kiss, Cedrick seemingly calmed down and loosened his grip gradually. 

Gwendolyn seized the opportunity to retract her hand and replace her sleeve with Treyton’s. 

“Kiddo, what are you- 

Gwendolyn put a finger on her lips to shush him. 

Left without a choice, Treyton sat by the bedside with a scowl on his face as he allowed Cedrick to continue gripping his sleeve.

With nothing else to do, both Gwendolyn and Nico got some shuteye on the plane. 

By the time Cedrick was awake, Gwendolyn had left for more than two to three hours. 

“Gwenny!” 

When his eyes open abruptly and saw only darkness, Cedrick tightened his grip on the sleeve by reflex. 

The moment he did, he could quickly tell that the texture of the fabric in his hand was different. It clearly didn’t belong to Gwendolyn. Instead, it felt like a man’s suit. 

He retracted his hand immediately and asked, “Who’s there?” 

“It’s me, Treyton,” Treyton replied in an emotionless tone. 

“Why are you here? Did she tell all of you about my sickness?” 

Cedrick sat up and leaned back against the headboard. 

When he felt the sides of the bed with his hands, he noticed that it was a small one. This isn’t Harrick Villa. It feels more like a ward in the lab. 

Seeing no point in lying, Treyton hummed in acknowledgment. 

Cedrick’s voice took on a serious tone as he asked, “Where’s Gwenny?” 

“She…” 

Treyton hesitated briefly before continuing, “She has gone away for a few days to deal with a personal 

matter.” 

The answer caused Cedrick’s heart to sink and his fists to tighten. “Personal matter? What else can it be other than going to see Charles? She clearly promised me that she would never see him. Never!” 

Losing control of his emotions, Cedrick was brought to the brink of hysteria as he swept his blanket aside and got out of bed. 

Unable to see, he fell heavily toward the ground after missing a step. 

Treyton was stunned by the sudden turn of events and his first reaction wasn’t to help Cedrick. 

However, when he pictured Gwendolyn blaming him for the bruises Cedrick suffered in her absence, he threw himself forward to grab the latter in the nick of time, 

“What are you kicking up a fuss for? Didn’t I tell you that it’ll only be for a few days? Who knows, she might be back even earlier than that!”

With a darkened expression, Cedrick retorted, “It’s none of your business.” 

His response infuriated Treyton. “Fine, you ingrate! Go ahead, then. Let’s see how far you go on your own!” 

It was the middle of winter then. Cedrick’s feet had turned red from the icy floor, while his body was only protected by a thin outfit. 

In spite of that, he didn’t appear to feel the cold at all. With a determined look on his face, he had only one thing in mind–find Gwendolyn! 

The annoyed Treyton stood aside as he watched Cedrick stumbling around in disdain. 

Nonetheless, when he noticed how red the latter’s legs were, his heart began to waver. “I just can’t believe this! I’m going put a blind man like you in your place!”
