Chapter 347 Trying To Stall For Time 

He then lifted the blanket and tried to get off the bed 

Treyton quickly eepped forward and stopped hits. Don’t be ridiculous! If you leave now, what will we do abom Craig and Yael the day after tomorrow?

Treyton was struggling to come up with an answer when Kieran knocked on the door and came in. 

Treyton immediately stood up and asked, “What’s his status, Kieran?” 

“Everything seems to be fine. It should be okay for him to remove the bandages,” Kieran replied while pulling the curtains aside. 

Treyton walked up to Cedrick and offered to give him a hand, but Cedrick declined his help. “I’ll do it myself.” 

He then reached behind his head and began to slowly unwrap the bandages. 

“Take it slow with the last two loops, and don’t open your eyes too quickly. You need to give them time to adapt to the light,” Kieran reminded him while standing at the foot of the bed. 

Cedrick did as told; his eyelids fluttered as he slowly opened his eyes. 

As though there was a black veil around his eyes, he could barely see the outline of his hands when he looked at them. Even so, it was a huge improvement compared to when his vision was pitch-black. 

Treyton walked up to him and waved his hand excitedly in front of Cedrick’s face. “Can you see my hand?” 

“Not clearly, but can at least make out the direction it is moving in,” Cedrick replied honestly. 

“Try looking at my face, then. Are you able to see my expression?” Treyton pressed on while leaning forward. 

Cedrick stared at him for a few seconds before shaking his head. 

Treyton let out a disappointed sigh and turned toward Kieran. 

“What should we do, Kieran? He has a meeting the day after tomorrow, but he can barely see anything. Craig and Yael are really sharp, so they’ll definitely notice!”

Kieran showed no change in emotion as he updated Cedrick’s details on his file “Calm down, will you! We still have one whole day tomorrow.” 

After he was done writing the report, he prescribed Cedrick some new medication and told Treyton. “A nurse will drop by later to bring him the medicine. You need to make sure that he takes it.” 

Treyton simply nodded in response. 

Kieran then tore off the prescription and made his way out of the ward. 

Cedrick called out to him when he was about to step out the door, “Kieran! There’s one more thing I need your help with.” 

Meanwhile, the atmosphere was getting lively in a certain event hall in Erihal. 

Nico had taken an expensive suit with him when he vaulted out of Charles’ lounge. 

He had removed his ugly-looking disguise and restored his handsome appearance by the time he returned to the palace corridor. 

The servants who passed him by all stepped aside to make way when they saw his outfit. 

Nico then took the route that he had previously taken to the palace and arrived at Alzer Palace shortly after. 

The atmosphere at Alzer Palace was calm and serene due to its dim lighting and few people passing through, which formed a huge contrast with the lively event hall. 

Nico was halfway through exploring Alzer Palace when two guards approached him from the shadows. 

“Who goes there?” 

Upon noticing his outfit, however, the two guards immediately switched up their tone and said respectfully in Epean, “I’m afraid you may have gotten the wrong place, sir. The event hall is that way. This is Mr. Vidar’s private residence.” 

Nico eyed the two guards from head to toe. 

Charles has men guarding his private residence? It looks like the antidote might actually be here! 

With that in mind, Nico flashed the guards an awkward smile and replied in Epean, “Ah, yes, my mistake!” 

The guards then bowed to him and stood there as they watched him leave. 

Nico had just taken a few steps when one of the guards noticed something was amiss. “You have a strange accent, sir. Did you just return from studying abroad or something? May I have your name?” 

Nico paused in his tracks and clenched his fists in an attempt to calm himself down. 

He then pretended to be angry as he walked up to one of the guards and grabbed him by the collar. “Take a good, long look at me, will you? How dare you not know who I am?” 

Frightened by his sudden outburst, the two guards exchanged nervous glances before one of them stammered softly. “W-We’re new here at this palace, sir! The princess had us assigned to Mr. Vidar immediately after hiring us, so we really don’t know who you are!”

While the guards were still frozen in confusion. Nico snatched the stun gun from one of them and used i to knock them both out with lightning speed. 

He even zapped them a few more times on the waist just to make sure they were really unconscious 

After that, he stripped them to their underwear, shoved their shirts into their mouths, and tied them up using their jackets and pants. 

Nico then proceeded to hide them inside one of Alzer Palace’s bathrooms.
