Wooing My ex-wife (Gwendolyn and Maverick) novel Chapter 466

Chapter 466 All Responsibilities.

An angry laugh escaped Inez “Mom, did you really just give me this Is Kieran your long-lost son? Is that why you like him so much”

Madelyn sighed. “My sweetheart, you’re not that young anymore. Give it a few more years, and you’re going to be a hag Although Mr Kieran didn’t realize his feelings for you previously and rejected your courtship, he has been bravely courting you after realizing the feelings he had for you. He’s been trying really hard too, and I noticed his efforts. He’s the most suitable man for you. Your dad and I will be at ease if we let him have your hand in marriage.”

Once Madelyn was done with her speech, she tiptoed away from the room.

Inez stared at the small package in her hand. When those steamy scenes flashed across her mind, she blushed from her neck to her ears.

Turning around to look at the drunk Kieran, she found herself hesitant.

Am I really going to do this?

As that thought floated in her mind, she walked over to the bedside and gazed at him for a while.

The angel and the devil on her shoulders were fighting against each other.

After sitting by the bedside for a few quiet minutes, her rationality won.

Tossing the condom into the trash can, she wrung the towel and started wiping Kieran’s body and face again.

The man was too heavy for her.

By the time she was done cleaning him up, she was exhausted.

At that point, she prayed never to encounter a drunk Kieran again.

Panting, she tucked him into bed again before turning her head to the wardrobe, thinking of getting two beddings to sleep on the floor.

But just as she moved to stand up, Kieran grabbed her arm.

The slumbering man subconsciously pulled her into his arms to hug her as if she was a bolster.

“Kieran?” she softly called out.

Her whisper did not elicit any reaction, which meant that he was truly asleep this time.

She then tried to pry his arm away, but he was simply too heavy. Her efforts were fruitless.

Perhaps she was too tired, or perhaps the position she was in was too comforting, for Inez found her eyelids drooping.

Gradually, she gave up on struggling away from him and gave in to the allures of sleep.

Right as the first ray of the sun filtered through the curtains, Inez woke,

Slowly opening her eyes, she turned to look at the man beside her.

The man had perfect facial features. Even though he was sleeping, she could sense how icy he would be if he were awake.

Reaching out, she gently trailed her finger from his forehead to the tip of his nose, tracing the profile of

his face.

His face always made her heart skip a beat.

Those eyes, too.

Wait a second. Eyes?

Inez snapped back to her senses.

Upon focusing on his face, she realized that Kieran had woken up at one point and was now staring at her.

She quickly retracted her hand guiltily and explained, “Don’t misunderstand the situation. My mom. locked the door by accident last night, and you weren’t letting me go either. I was really tired after cleaning you up the night before, so you succeeded in keeping me trapped in your bed last night. But nothing happened!”

Kieran curled his lips. “Why are you nervous if nothing happened?”

“I’m not nervous,” she denied, blushing.

Soon, Kieran’s ears turned red as well. “To be honest, I… about last night…” He had remembered everything that transpired the night before.

After a moment of contemplation, he said, “I’ll bear the consequences.”

Inez scrambled out of bed at that. “We did nothing last night! After the bodyguard sent you home, I cleaned you up. You trapped me in your arms after that, and we fell asleep. That’s all that happened. You don’t need to bear the consequences for anything!”

With that said, she ran off to smack the door rapidly and desperately.

Once Madelyn finally opened the door, Inez hunched over and scurried off.

Madelyn watched Inez speed off before turning to look at Kieran, who was leaning against the headboard with a smile. Pretending not to have seen anything the night before, she started, “Mr. Kieran, did you…”

Kieran repeated, “Don’t worry, Mrs. Mossey. I’ll be responsible for Inez.”

Madelyn nodded and gestured okay to him before turning to leave.

During breakfast, the Mossey residence’s dining room was silent save for the sounds of clanking utensils and plates.

The four people were eating without saying anything.

Meanwhile, Inez kept her head hung as she focused on her food.

In contrast, Madelyn was shooting looks at Jerome,

Knowing what Madelyn meant, Jerome cleared his throat and broke the silence. “Mr. Kieran, I heard that you’re going to be responsible for Inez. How are you going to do so?”

“Pili-”

Inez choked on her fruit juice.

Kieran promptly patted her back and passed her a napkin. In a somber tone, he replied, “I’ll get engaged with Inez. I’ll have no one else as my spouse but her.”

Hearing that, Madelyn and Jerome looked at each other and smiled.

“No way,” Inez unhesitatingly answered after her bout of intense coughing.

Madelyn’s and Jerome’s expressions darkened immediately, and they responded in unison, “Your rejection is rejected!”

Inez pursed her lips.

Unlike her parents, Kieran heeded her choice. He wanted to know what she thought about the matter, so he asked, “Why are you rejecting this, Inez?”
