Wooing My ex-wife (Gwendolyn and Maverick) novel Chapter 541

Chapter 541 The Same Routine

Without hesitation, his hand shot out to grab Gwendolyn's left wrist.

With her two hands restrained, the frenzied Gwendolyn started kicking her legs.

Cedrick was forced to move backward. Once he let go of her, he rolled twice across the bed before landing steadily on the carpet.

While Gwendolyn went to look for more objects to alleviate her emotions, he took the opportunity to dash to the closet to grab a belt, the moonlight the only light source for him in the dark. Before Gwendolyn could throw something else onto the ground, he rushed to the other side of the bed and placed the belt in her hand.

Once Gwendolyn got hold of a weapon, the bloodlust in her eyes grew more intense.

“Wait!” Cedrick cried out in a panic.

In the next second, he took off his pajamas and threw them on the bed before standing naked in front of Gwendolyn. He did not want another set of clothes destroyed again.

“Come, Gwenny. Do it fast so we can go back to sleep.”

Gwendolyn roared as if she had turned into a beast without rationality and sentience.

There was nothing but anger in her eyes—there was no trace of pity for him—as she swung the belt toward him.

Smack!

Every whip she did struck an old wound, but Cedrick endured it with deep breaths and gritted teeth as he covered his crotch.

Quietly, he counted the attacks, wondering how long more he had to endure them.

The whooshing of the whipping belt was terrifying in the silent night.

The one-sided violence lasted close to an hour.

Eventually, the whipping grew weaker.

When Cedrick lifted his head, he noticed the manic quality in Gwendolyn's eyes fading away, giving place to exhaustion.

The second she fell backward, Cedrick shot forward to grab her.

Like the night before, he nimbly placed her back on the bed.

He had been keeping tracking earlier, so he knew she had delivered two hundred and eighteen strikes on him. Gwenny's strong when she's manic.

He inhaled sharply.

It hurt terribly.

Every inch of his skin was screaming in pain.

Unable to sit, he supported himself with a hand on the edge of the bed while he took calculated breaths. It took him a long time to recollect himself.

The bedside lamp had been removed, and turning on the ceiling lights would startle Gwendolyn awake, so Cedrick picked up his pajamas from the bed in the dark and felt his way out of the room.

Still naked, he came to the living room before making his way to the refrigerator for an ice pack. As he held it against his cheek, he checked the injuries on the rest of his body.

He had twice the amount of injuries than before, and there was no part of his skin that had been spared from abuse.

Red, blue, and black—he was covered in the signs of torment.

Cedrick stumbled, and he had to keep himself steady with a hand on the refrigerator.

While the assaulter would tire from the act, the receiver would be even more exhausted.

Furthermore, he had not been sleeping well for the past few nights. He was sore and tired.

Joshua had already come up with the right dose of medication to cure her, so Cedrick had to quickly treat himself before taking Gwendolyn to the lab.

With that thought in mind, he forced himself to snap back to his senses and grabbed the anti-inflammatory cream Joshua had given him during the day to apply to his wounds.

It was a potent medication. Initially, Cedrick felt a cooling sensation on his skin, but it soon turned into flames from an inferno, burning his skin. It felt as if his skin was going to fall off.

In fact, it hurt worse than when he was hit. Even Cedrick, a man with a high pain tolerance, was unable to withstand the agony.

Cold sweat covered his entire body, and the world spun around him. He could barely keep his balance.

To let the wounds heal faster, he took a towel and bit onto it before continuing the application of the cream.

Once he was done with that, he drank a glass of water to calm the stress from the agonizing session. After putting on his pajamas, he went back upstairs to look for Gwendolyn.

His arms were covered with wounds, and when he carried Gwendolyn, her weight pressed against them.

Nevertheless, Cedrick let no pained sound leave his mouth as he silently carried Gwendolyn downstairs.

Half an hour later, he arrived at the lab.

Joshua had received his message a long while ago, so he had rushed back to the lab to work overtime.

After administering intravenous therapy for Gwendolyn, Joshua turned to look at Cedrick with a frown. “This is too tiring for you, Cedrick. Go and rest in the room at the side. This will take at least two and a half hours. I'll watch over her for you.”
