It was obviously a warm June day, but the large bedroom made people feel chilly to the bone.
Ben looked at her. His cold gaze was charming.
He slowly raised his hand, pulled off his tie, and threw it on the couch. Then he slowly stepped towards Claudia, with his gaze somber and cold.
Claudia shuddered at the thought of how furious he was the last time she saw him...
At that moment, he deliberately reined in his anger and gloomy look. His taut lips and stern eyes were unusually frightening.
“Is Conrad asleep?”
He suddenly spoke, his voice low and cold.
Claudia froze but nodded.
Ben looked at her from above, and the look in his eyes looked gloomy, scary, and cold.
Claudia vaguely sensed that something was wrong, so she felt very confused and quickly lowered her eyes.
She thought to herself what was wrong with him somehow.
“Has Hanna been here lately?” Ben continued to speak. His low, raspy voice sounded somber.
Claudia's brow furrowed, then she ducked her head at her instinct.
She remembered Hanna had come by a few times.
“You don't really like her coming here?” He asked again.
Claudia froze for a moment, and her beautiful lashes fluttered slightly.
Ben gazed at her. His sullen eyes looked chilly. Then he suddenly cupped her chin, “Answer me!”
She looked at him. Her peaceful eyes looked calm.
“You can't talk, but you can type.” Ben glanced at the cell phone on the couch, picked it up in a flash, then tossed it to her.
Claudia was slightly stunned. After picking up the phone, she didn't know what to say.
She did resist Hanna at her instinct and heard those people talking. If what they said was true, then Conrad would...
Looking at her calm face, Ben somehow furrowed his brows, turned around, and said coldly, “Get out!”
Claudia sighed slightly and then headed out of the bedroom. Her footsteps became heavy, as if her heart also sank.
Early the next morning, Ben changed his clothes. He was buttoning his shirt cufflinks as he walked outside. As he passed the study, he looked over the half-open door and stopped in his tracks.
On the desk inside the room, Claudia was sleeping on her stomach while the computer next to her was still on.
She looked like she had been here all night.
Ben stepped inside. He woke Claudia as he browsed through the files.
She rubbed her eyes in panic, looked at the time, and hurriedly got up to check Conrad, but Ben held her wrist in a flash.
His deep eyes glanced at the webpage on the computer screen, and he narrowed his eyes, “Why are you looking into this?”
Claudia looked at the webpage and was stunned.
The webpage showed the explanation and treatment of “STD”, and small windows of advertisements for specialist consultation kept popping up.
“Why are you looking into this?”
Ben's deep eyes were gloomy. He was fine and healthy, so why was she looking up all this?
He looked like he was offended by the words that made a man most intolerable. He was also overreacting a bit. Claudia lowered her gaze in embarrassment and thought for a moment before reaching for her phone and typing in a few words, but she typed those words over and over again. And she didn't know where to start.
If Claudia told him the truth, it would seem like she was slandering Hanna behind her back, which was the last thing she wanted to do.
However, if she didn't tell him the truth, then Ben would definitely suspect her. After all, it was about STD, and what if they had any more misunderstandings because of it?
Claudia was in a dilemma and torn on the inside.
