Late at night, Claudia had just laid down. And the moment she closed her eyes, she heard a loud noise.
Bang!
She couldn't help but shudder. And she subconsciously sat up and turned on the desk lamp.
Just as she lifted the covers off the bed, her bedroom door was opened from the outside.
Ben appeared in the doorway with an icy aura. The faint light from the lamp could not light up the large room, but she could vaguely see the fierce aura that emanated from Ben, which instantly made the room's temperature plummet.
Claudia's heart tightened, but she couldn't imagine how she had offended him, so she just pursed her lips nervously.
He slowly took a step away, walked up to her, and stared down at the woman who was close at hand. His cold lips evoked an indifferent arc.
“Did Dr. Lincoln come over to check on you today?” Ben suddenly spoke, his voice low and cold.
Claudia nodded.
The next second, he roughly cupped her pointed chin. He squeezed her chin so hard that she kept frowning.
Ben forced her to meet his eyes. Claudia felt even more confused when she met Ben's cold eyes. Then the next thing she heard was his voice.
“You said that Hanna was sick this morning, didn't you?”
His questioning tone sounded like the order issued by a king who stood high above her.
Claudia was stunned but instinctively bowed her head.
After all, she did type something like that into her phone. She looked at him with surprise. And she wondered if he had come to question her so soon.
Then, Ben fiercely threw her to the side. He said in colder words, “Are you saying she’s having STD?”
Claudia shuddered but nodded her head.
“What?!”
His cold laugh that reached her ears was like a biting wind, deterring her unstable heart.
Suddenly, he clasped her thin and soft wrist. Claudia turned her head in dismay, and her eyes fell into Ben's angry gaze.
She couldn't understand why and what he was trying to do.
Claudia had been wronged by him yesterday. And she had been tortured by him so brutally that her body ached until now. She got very annoyed and pushed him away. Then, Ben's face suddenly darkened.
He forced her to look at him again. His words made her feel as painful as she was suddenly thrown with a basin of ice in the cold winter.
“You're really good at covering up your deeds by pushing the blame to others!”
After saying that, Ben threw a document in his hand at her fiercely.
The document fell to the ground, and Claudia bent down to pick it up. As soon as she opened it, its contents stung her eyes.
The papers were all test results, the results of her physical examination today. And the document at the top was the result of the infectious disease test.
The result was positive!
She was actually tested and found out she had an infectious disease?!
What did this mean?
Looking at the panicked look on Claudia's face, Ben smiled more coldly. Every word he said smashed at her like cold ice, “You know you are sick, but you are still framing Hanna? Claudia, is this your scheme?”
She quickly shook her head and felt very confused inside. How could this be possible?
She wasn't allergic to anything. And she hadn't been allergic to any drugs or food since she was a child. No other man had ever touched her except Ben. Thus, how could she have gotten STD for no reason at all?
That must be not true!
She quickly reached for her phone and typed on it, “I'm not sick. There must be some kind of a mistake!”
A line of handwriting came into his sight. Ben's anger exploded in an instant. He gradually tightened his big hand on the wall. The veins stood out on his bony fingers.
“You're still arguing.”
His voice sounded low, as if it came out only after he had deliberately suppressed it. His voice was low and deadly hoarse.
Before Claudia could react, he suddenly sneered. He suddenly used his other hand to pull her to him. He stared into her eyes with a cold gaze and saw the look of helplessness and astonishment in her eyes.
