Joyce bit her lower lip and held back stiffly. Certainly, it would not be appropriate for her to fight back.
"Mom, what are you doing?!" Luther didn't have time to stop it. He just saw Joyce get hit and then he looked at the back of Jacqueline's burned red hand.
"You ask her!" Jacqueline said indignantly, "Shouldn't a daughter-in-law pour tea for her mother-in-law? Not only did she speak ill of me, but she also had a malicious mind and deliberately spilled boiling water to get back at me."
Luther looked sideways at Joyce.
The five red finger marks on her face and the wretched appearance of her body being wet with cold water stung his heart.
"Joyce, what's going on here?" He waited for her to speak, but he was not questioning.
Joyce gently rubbed her sore cheek and gave a sarcastic laugh.
Jacqueline did pay a big price just in order to set her up. She had taken good care of her hands with a lot of money and today she decided to sacrifice her hands just for her. She just would achieve her purpose by any means.
People who didn’t even spare themselves would never be good.
Since they were elders, she couldn't fight back. Then she could only use a different way.
"Sorry, I was careless just now." Joyce simply admitted openly, "I poured a cup of water for auntie, and the water was a little hot, so I put it on the coffee table. But when I turned around, my aunt pulled me in to talk to me, and I accidentally knocked over the glass of water. I'm sorry, auntie. I'm sorry, I should have put the water cup further away. I'll be careful next time!"
Jacqueline was completely surprised that Joyce readily admitted it.
She let herself endure such pain in order to make a big deal out of it and thus anger Joyce, forcing Joyce to reveal her true colors. To her surprise, Joyce just admitted it and just simply ended it.
"Again, I'm sorry, Auntie."
Joyce bowed ninety degrees towards Jacqueline, "Just now a slap, I hope it can make you feel better. You are an elder, you have all the grace of the family, and I hope you can just forgive me. I'm sorry."
Joyce estimated in her mind that Jacqueline was still losing out in this matter. She thought that Jacqueline should also be able to calculate clearly and know that the slap on her face today was not worth it.
Jacqueline was extremely embarrassed.
Unexpectedly, Joyce did not leave her any other choices, so she simply could not make the matter any worse. If she did not just let Joyce go this time, she would be making things worse on purpose.

The readers' comments on the novel: Wrong marriage and sweet love (Joyce and Luther)
If this is the ending of this story the story then I wish I hadn’t started reading it doesn’t even end right has not closure. To bad these writers don’t put much into their endings....
When will the new chapters come I can't wait any longer...
Very strange ending, is Joyce pregnant again or does she still have remnants of the devil with her. Christian should have apologized and made up with Luther and Felix. Too much violence and twists and turns, once settled, everyone should be happy and healthy....
Omg… can’t you just let Luther and Joyce live in peace with their children….another controversy doesn’t add to the story....
Not again, ugh … just get rid of this disgusting despicable woman...
Hopefully the underground bio lab East523will be found soon and Luther will make a full recovery, Lily will be reunited with the family and all will be good. Otherwise this will be a very disappointing story....
Please don’t make more trouble for Joyce and Luther, they need to have their children and be happy...
Looking forward to Joyce shooting Otis where it will hurt him the most and end his disgusting ways with women. He’s a pig, deserves to lose his “unit”....
Just tell him you’re the one that saved him , not the evil woman and find your beautiful love story together. Quit being a wet blanket, too smart for that....
I hate it when the hero and heroine are made out to be fools for the evil people that wish to steal their lives and live. Hopefully Charlotte is found out quickly and removed. Why should a villain with an illegitimate child reap all the rewards. Terrible....
