After Dr. Crawford left, Felix returned to Vicki's side.
Vicki was having breakfast, placing the tray on her long, exposed legs. She used her uninjured hand to eat, displaying skilled and graceful movements. For her, having bruises was normal. Felix sat down next to Vicki.

Author wasted so much time describing how Joyce looked, more than once, no wonder the book is so long because we keep reading the same things over again...
