You More Than Anything In The World novel Chapter 1209

“Why?” Arissa felt bewildered and puzzled. He went to the office yesterday, so why isn't he going today?

Since her condition had improved greatly compared to the day before, Arissa said, “I'll be fine at the hospital. Grandaunt and Dad will probably accompany me later on. Don't worry about me, okay?”

He stared deeply into her eyes, seemingly with mixed emotions.

Since Benjamin remained silent, Arissa was unaware of the situation, assuming he was just concerned about her.

After sending the children to school, Ethen and Jack went to the office to pick up the documents and brought them to the hospital.

“Are you feeling better, Mrs. Graham?” It seemed as if Jack was even tanner now than when she last saw him.

Arissa was startled for a bit before she nodded. “Yes, I'm feeling better now. Why are you so tan all of a sudden?”

Grinning sheepishly, Jack scratched the back of his head and replied, “It is all due to the long training sessions under the sun.”

“Oh.” Arissa glanced at him and saw nothing but glistening, white teeth smiling at her.

Jack was then signaled aside by Benjamin, and he hurriedly informed Benjamin about the island's situation.

Meanwhile, Ethen sorted out the documents they had brought over from the office for Benjamin.

Since the ward had a desk, it became Benjamin's temporary work area for now.

Arissa was curious about the base as she listened to Jack's briefings to Benjamin, thinking that it would be a fun and interesting place.

“Do you guys train the whole day?” she asked Jack.

“More or less so.” Jack nodded, hesitant to say anything further.

Benjamin swept a glance at Arissa and said, “As soon as you recover, I'll take you on a tour around the island.”

Jack and Ethen widened their eyes in disbelief as they gazed at Benjamin. Looks like Boss trusts Mrs. Graham with all his heart now.

Feeling happy, Arissa laughed. “Sure!”

She hadn't been to the base before.

“Has Gavin been there before?”

“Yes, he has,” Benjamin responded before giving Jack instructions. “A strict selection process is mandatory. Our standards should never be lowered!”

“Yes, Mr. Graham!” Jack replied as he saluted.

“You can return to the office with Ethen.” Benjamin then dismissed them with a wave of his hand.

After quickly explaining the arrangement of the documents to Benjamin, Ethen left with Jack.

“You can watch some shows if you're feeling bored. However, just make sure you don't tire yourself out,” Benjamin said as he handed a tablet to her.

Arissa chuckled. “Won't I disturb you while you work?”

Benjamin ruffled her hair gently as he replied, “Not at all.”

Since he was supposed to accompany her, a little noise wouldn't bother him.

Arissa was touched by his reply. She picked a movie, turned the volume down, and began watching it.

It was only then that Benjamin went back to his work.

A while later, when Darius and Mary arrived at the ward, Benjamin was busy working while Arissa was watching a movie, creating a cozy and warm atmosphere.

Both Darius and Mary looked at each other and smiled.

Noticing the two of them in the ward, Arissa quickly invited them to sit down.

“Dad, Grandaunt, have you had breakfast yet?”

“Yes. Edwin brought us some breakfast this morning.”

Taking a seat beside the bed, Mary asked with a smile, “How are you feeling today?”

“Much better,” Arissa said cheerfully as she looked at them.

Seeing that she was energetic and lively, Darius felt relieved. “What would you like to eat, Issa? I'll get it for you.”

“Thank you, Dad!” Arissa felt quite bad for having the elders worry about her.

“Are you feeling better, Dad?”

“Yes, I'm fine. I can be discharged today as well.”

Darius gave a dismissive wave as he continued, “I would have wanted to go home last night if both of you hadn't been concerned about me.”

When she saw Darius in good spirits and looking radiant, Arissa breathed a sigh of relief.

“So, did the doctor say you're allowed to go home now?”

“Shaun has examined me just now and says I'm fine.”

Feeling ecstatic, Darius added, “You should also try to get discharged as soon as possible.”

Arissa smiled. “I will!”

She then turned to look at Mary. “You should rest more too, Grandaunt. You don't have to come here to keep me company.”

“I know. Actually, I was considering leaving the hospital today as well. It's not a good thing to continue staying in the hospital anyway. Wouldn't it be better if Darius and I were discharged together today?”

Having recuperated well at the hospital, Mary was already fine.

She only needed to follow up with regular body checkups.

Once Mary was discharged, she would be able to take care of the children. She could not do anything if she stayed in the hospital.
