Chapter 332: A Mysterious Girl

After they killed the zombie, Rong Mo’er and Rong Qinyu didn’t take the medicine but went to check the rest of the building first.

The pharmacy was located in a three-story building, with the ground floor used as a pharmacy, while the second and third floors were used as a warehouse.

The two of them climbed the stairs and went to the second floor. As they walked, they heard a faint sound coming from the corner of the warehouse.

"Stay behind me," Rong Qinyu whispered in a hushed voice.

Rong Mo’er nodded and followed after her cousin. As the two of them walked closer to the corner, they heard the muffled sound of a baby’s cry.

They exchanged glances and decided not to approach that corner. Instead, they stood several meters away and said, "Come out."

They waited for a while before they saw a young girl hugging a baby, walking out from behind the boxes. The girl was thin and unkempt. From her clothes and hair, it was clear that she hadn’t taken a shower for a long time.

The baby in her arms was sucking on the girl’s finger while sobbing softly.

Noticing the rusty scent in the air, Rong Mo’er’s eyes flashed with surprise. She observed the girl and noticed that she was not only thin but also pale. Her eyes looked empty, as if she couldn’t see anything.

"Who are you?" the girl asked.

"We are mercenaries hired by the Lin’an base. We came here to clear out the zombies," Rong Mo’er replied.

The girl paused for a moment after hearing her words and asked again, "Can you help me bring my brother back to the base?"

Hearing this, Rong Mo’er asked her back, "Why don’t you bring him back by yourself?"

The girl shook her head and said with a helpless smile, "I won’t be able to live for long. Only you and your cousin can save my brother’s life."

The moment they heard this, both Rong Mo’er and Rong Qinyu were surprised. The two of them didn’t look similar despite sharing the same blood.

Therefore, most people would often think they were a couple. But this girl knew they were cousins in just a few minutes of meeting. What’s more, her eyes didn’t seem to be able to see. So, how could she know? Who is she?

After she said this, the girl raised her hands and handed the baby to them. The Rong siblings exchanged glances but didn’t reach out.

The girl let out a sigh and placed the baby on top of one of the boxes and said, "I’m grateful that my lifespan will end before the hellish era arrives. But I mourn for the future of humanity, as they would only have one chance to survive."

When she finished her words, the girl’s face suddenly cracked. Her empty eyes turned to them as she said softly, "R-run..."

The next moment, her stomach was ripped apart, and something came out of it. Seeing the tentacle-like thing moving toward them at a fast speed, Rong Qinyu said, "Be careful!"
