Jason’s scowl deepened as Estrella greeted him, but since she’d taken the initiative, he couldn’t very well ignore her without seeming petty. So, with measured nonchalance, he rose to his feet to play the “long time no see” game. 

When he took Estrella’s hand, his grip was firm, as if to say, “We’re going to have a talk about why you’re at Velvet Voices KTV once we get home.” 

Serene, watching Grayson and Jason put on an act with Estrella, forced a smile and gave up her seat next to Jason. “Estrella, why don’t you come sit over here?” 

Someone called out to Estrella, and with a laugh, she said to Jason, “Have fun, Mr. Jason. I’m going to take a seat over there.” After pulling her hand away from Jason’s, Estrella went to join Dominic and the others. 

Jason watched Estrella walk away, his gaze lingering on her until he slowly clenched his suspended hand into a fist and let it fall to his side. 

With Estrella’s arrival, the atmosphere became even livelier. Dominic and a few other guys from the law department circled around her, discussing their current case studies. 

After a while, Dominic turned to Estrella, “You’re so accomplished, Estrella. I bet you’re still single, right? Back in the day, you were the queen of our department-my queen, too. Remember, I had a few high school buddies who had crushes on you? They didn’t make it, to Ravenwood College but asked me to set them up with you, and to take 

and to take you out for dinner. I never agreed. I figured, if I hadn’t managed to charm you myself, why would I help them out?” 

“Dominic, you sly dog! But seriously, Estrella, you had such a unique approach to cases that even Professor Lowe praised you in class. 

“Are you still single, Estrella? Do any of us stand a chance? If you’re unattached, we can’t let our law department’s treasure slip away to someone else.” 

Amid the playful banter laced with truth, Serene glanced at Jason. His eyes seemed glu to Estrella, unable to look away, and his gaze was so intense it was as if he wanted to s the men alive. What they didn’t know was that their queen was already his wife. 

Addressing the group’s inquiries, Estrella chuckled, “If you liked me so much, why didn’t you tell me back then? You missed your chance.” 

“Estrella, are you single now, or do you have a boyfriend?” 

Estrella quipped, “No boyfriend yet, but I did get a girlfriend. You know, you guys had chance to set me straight back in school.”

Chapter 157 

Jason’s face twisted in distaste at Estrella’s nonsense. 

After joking around with everyone for a bit, Estrella stepped outside to answer a phone call from her mother. 

“I’m here with Bryce and Jesse.” 

“Don’t worry, Jason’s here too. I’ll be back soon.” 

“Yeah, I know.” 

Estrella finished her call in the small garden at the back and was about to return to the private room when Jason appeared, having followed her outside. 

Seeing him, Estrella smiled, “Mr. Jason, coming out for some fresh air?” 

Jason, with a note of scorn, replied, “Addicted to the act?” 

Estrella countered, “Just following your old style.” 

In the past, he never acknowledged their relationship wherever they went. Over time, Estrella got used to it. It was convenient and saved a lot of explanations. 

With her ever-present smile, Jason felt a warmth in his heart and pulled her close. Resting his chin on her shoulder, he explained, “Grayson dragged me out here, so I just came to hang out for a bit.” 

After his explanation, he looked at Estrella and asked, “What brought you here?” 

Estrella wrapped her arms around his waist, “I came to catch you cheating, but you’re not making it easy.” 

Jason’s face darkened before he asked, “Bryce called you over, didn’t he?” He had sensed someone skulking behind him as he entered the KTV. Now it was clear that the girls who had joined the room earlier were likely Bryce’s doing, an attempt to trap him and catch him in the act. To get him to divorce, Bryce really went to great lengths. Estrella looked up, “How do you know it wasn’t your mom who called me?” 

Jason chuckled, “Do you think my mom can easily get ahold of my whereabouts and leverage?” 

Kristin wasn’t that capable. The complaints she made to Estrella in the past were only what he wanted Estrella to see. Otherwise, they could dig three feet into the ground and 

still not find him. 

Estrella laughed along with him, realizing he was just trying to rile her up before. Her hands still around Jason’s waist, and she gave him a sharp pinch,
