Chapter 174
Pausing in her tracks, she tucked her hands into the deep pockets of her coat, slowly exhaled a breath, and then, with a smile playing on her lips, asked, “Something on your mind?”
Jason strode up to her, one hand casually buried in his pocket, the other playfully brushing away a stray lock of hair from her forehead. “Not heading home?”
His nonchalance was met with a chuckle from Estrella. After her laughter subsided, she gently pushed his hand away. “I’m not joking with you, Jason. I am serious about getting a divorce.”
His hand, once removed, curled into a loose fist. “I was out of line with what I said the other day.”
Following his clash with Grayson at the bar, Jason had mulled over both his words and those of his friend, admitting to himself that claiming Dorvold Group couldn’t clinch the deal if he had intervened was indeed an overstatement.
“So, are you apologizing?” Estrella, hands still pocketed, looked at him with an amused smile. “Alright, I accept your apology, but Jason, we’re really not right for each other. Let’s just go through with the proceedings, okay?”

As Estrella brushed past him, Jason caught her arm. “About the other day, seeing Holly was just-”
Before Jason could finish, Estrella cut him off. “Jason, I’m not interested in who you see or what you do. I just don’t want to be with you anymore.”
She had tried, given chances, but tolerance and patience had their limits. Once exhausted, she had no intention of playing games with him any longer.
At Estrella’s resolve, Jason yanked her back with a bit more force. His persistence annoyed her. “What is it you want, Jason? Don’t tell me you’re not ready for divorce. Nearly three years of marriage and I can see the indifference written all over your face. Can’t you, as a man, just let go?”
Estrella’s impatience was met with a fierce glare from Jason. “Are,
you want?”
“Yes, I’m adamant about the divorce.”

Jason had even approached her father at the Dorvold Group. If she didn’t end this marriage soon, she feared he might try to take over the company.
Her insistence on divorce evident, Jason’s grip tightened, veins on the back of his hand standing out.
Seeing this, Estrella forcefully withdrew her hand, the bandage on her ring finger still

intact, the wound beneath not yet healed. As she reclaimed her hand, Jason bit back, teeth clenched in irony, “Fine, you want a divorce, I’ll grant it.” With that, he turned and walked away without a backward glance.
At the doorway, Estrella watched his retreating figure until he rounded the corner towards the elevator, then she entered her apartment, closing the door gently behind her. She stood still for a moment, hand pressed to her stomach, before slowly making her way to
the couch to sit down.
Jason never visited her after that. Estrella didn’t return to Sandalwood Oasis, and he
returned even less frequently. Each return to the empty house, devoid of warmth or liveliness, left him feeling hollow inside.
Opening the bedroom door, Jason looked towards the desk. For a moment, he thought he saw Estrella smiling in greeting, but as he focused, he found the room empty, not even a mosquito in sight.
Rubbing his temples, frustration washed over him. In the past, she would never leave Sandalwood Oasis, no matter what. Even if Jason didn’t come home at night, she would wait for him. No matter what he did outside, she would always greet him with a smile.
Standing at the door, lost in thought, Jason eventually turned and left without entering the
room.
As he was about to leave, Marie stopped him. Mr. Jason, aren’t you going to bring Ms.
Estrella back?”
Before he could respond, Marie continued, “Mr. Jason, women need to be comforted. Just charm Ms. Estrella a bit, and she’ll come back. In Marie’s eyes, Estrella was a woman of
great patience, always cheerful and forgiving of Mr. Jason’s faults Marie believed a little
