When Sarah woke up again, she found herself lying in a bed in a room, with Daniel standing by the bedside, his expression cold as ice.
“This time, you caused such a big mess, and you should have been locked up longer. It’s because of Emily’s kindness that she didn’t hold it against you and begged me to release you.”
“Sarah, remember this. you and I, we’ll never be.”
With that, the door slammed shut right in front of Sarah, and the sound of the door closing drowned out whatever explanation she had intended to offer.
She leaned back against the headboard, closed her eyes, let out a long sigh, and muttered to herself.
“Daniel, I really… don’t like you anymore.”
The following days were incredibly busy for the Foster family.
Everyone in the mansion was preparing for Daniel and Emily’s upcoming wedding.
Emily, while directing everything, eagerly pulled Sarah along, as if all the previous misunderstandings had vanished into thin air.
“The venue and decorations are almost done, we just need a bridesmaid. Sarah is perfect–she’ll bring some good luck. Who knows, maybe she’ll even find a groom at the wedding!”
Emily even threw in a teasing tone at the end.
Sarah, not as skilled in acting as Emily, pulled her arm free from Emily’s grip, about to refuse when a cold, indifferent voice suddenly came from above them.
“She can’t be the bridesmaid.”
Sarah and Emily both turned at the same time, and they saw Daniel standing right behind them.
“Why can’t she?” Emily seemed surprised by his refusal.
Daniel didn’t answer, only looked over at Sarah.
Recently, she seemed to be behaving more obediently, not constantly clinging to him anymore.
But the thought of Sarah finding a boyfriend in the future made him feel inexplicably uneasy, a feeling of discomfort he couldn’t quite shake.
But when asked for a reason, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything.
Daniel lowered his eyes, about to find some excuse, when ho h~~– •
Chapter 6
“Actually, I’m not suitable to be the bridesmaid.”
The truth was, she was about to leave for another country,
She was destined not to attend this wedding.
Upon hearing this, Daniel nodded in agreement, and Emily finally gave up on the idea.
Just as Sarah let out a sigh of relief, planning to leave, she heard Emily’s voice again.
“Since Sarah can’t be the bridesmaid, how about you give me the wedding dress you designed? I really like it.”
Sarah couldn’t help but glance at Daniel.
