That night, both the Foster and Adams families stayed awake,
The Adams family hoped to downplay the situation, as none of the prominent families were without their dark
secrets.
However, the Foster family insisted on Daniel and Emily’s divorce. They could never allow someone who had been involved in so many deaths to be called “Mrs. l’oster.”
While the two families were at odds, the police burst through the door, taking Emily away in front of both families.
By morning, the Foster family was all over the trending news.
The once–loving couple, Daniel and Emily, now had the woman in prison and the man in the hospital.
Both families descended into chaos again, but Daniel no longer cared about any of it.
He just wanted to find Sarah and apologize.
But Sarah’s whereabouts were a complete mystery. The answers from the people he sent to search for her were always the same–no trace.
Once a powerful figure in business, Daniel had now been reduced to bedridden, broken by the endless blows.
His eyes were hollow as he gazed out the window, like a soulless puppet.
It was in that moment that Daniel finally understood how utterly wrong he had been.
He had become an executioner, pushing the one who truly loved him, Sarah, into hell.
Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her desperate, tear–streaked face, hearing her cries of hopelessness.
But what had he done?
He had ignored her. He had not believed her. He hadn’t cared at all.
When Daniel returned to the villa, the scene before him was nothing but emptiness.
There was no longer the small figure that would always appear behind him, jumping onto his back, calling his name playfully.
Each time, he would smile indulgently and carry her around.
Sometimes, his friends would joke about how Sarah wasn’t his junior, but rather his child bride.
At drunken gatherings, they would teasingly ask Daniel if he had any special feelings for Sarah.
His answer was always a firm no.
