99 Bloody Lashes And A Bullet To His Hear novel Chapter 86

She had a father who cared for her, friends who stood by her, a husband who loved her, and soon… they would welcome a child into the world.

After chatting with Jennifer for a while, exhaustion hit, and Charlie firmly lifted her in his arms and left the hospital. Soon, the news reached both families, and it stirred up a wave of excitement.

Since this was the first grandchild and great–grandchild for both families, the news spread like wildfire, and suddenly, Olivia felt like a fragile porcelain doll, showered with care from everyone.

Being the center of attention was something she wasn’t accustomed to. She felt as though, at the slightest command, even the elderly matriarch of the Williams family might move into their home, ready to take care of her at all times.

Thankfully, Charlie took charge, sending everyone back to the old family homes, easing the pressure on Olivia.

Eight months later, outside the operating room, both Olivia’s and Charlie’s parents were anxiously waiting. Only Charlie, dressed in surgical scrubs, entered with her.

Not far away, Joe, who had been in hiding around the corner, also waited with worry.

It was said that giving birth was like walking through the gates of death. While medical advances had made it safer, there were still risks. Joe, who had spent over eight months in the hospital without knowing much about her condition, now shared the same anxiety as the others.

Then, a loud cry of a baby suddenly rang out from the operating room, and everyone outside sighed in relief.

But when they still didn’t see her, anxiety crept back in.

Finally, after another quarter of an hour, the red light went out, and the door to the operating room opened. The doctor removed his mask with a broad smile. “Congratulations, both mother and daughter are safe. You’ve had a healthy, seven–pound, eight–ounce baby girl.”

Soon, both Olivia and the baby were safely transferred to a hospital room. When Charlie was wiping sweat from her forehead, she slowly woke up, and everyone crowded around her.

“Where’s the baby?” she asked weakly, having just gone through childbirth. But as soon as she asked, the others quickly brought the baby to her.

“Seven pounds, eight ounces of a chubby little girl. Look, she looks just like you.” During the pregnancy, Charlie had attended a class specifically to learn how to care for pregnant women and babies. Although most of the time these tasks were handled by servants, Charlie felt it was important to be prepared in case he was needed. So, at this moment, when he was holding the baby, he appeared quite adept.

Looking at their fair, plump daughter, Olivia reached out and curiously poked her cheek. It was soft, and it made her heart melt into a puddle.

So magical. She had given birth to a child.
