Every time Macy lit the lighter, Yerek’s heart skipped a beat.

He knew that those driven to madness could do anything, so he didn’t dare to provoke Macy further at that critical juncture.

“Anya’s death has nothing to do with me. You’re seeking revenge against the wrong person,” Yerek feigned composure. “You should be looking for Christina. She knows the truth of this matter more than anyone else.”

Macy didn’t trust Christina or Yerek.

Yerek was bewildered, but he was adept at shifting blame. “I considered Anya my little sister, and her death also pained me. Macy glared at her. “Shut up!”
