Chapter 162: Once More

-Hugh’s POV-

-A year before-

Hugh: “I’ll see you guy soon.”

Leon: “Are you sure you want to go there son, you can manage the same job here?.”

Hugh: “True but honestly want to experience what it’s like in the Demon Continent. Plus this is your home I want to see if I can make one for myself somewhere else.”

My mother and I shared a hug, she spoke out to me during it.

Luna: “As long as you come back safe.”

Once I arrived at the Demon King’s castle I was greeted by the head butler Seal.

Butler Seal: “Crown Prince Hugh, I’m glad to see your trip wasn’t problematic.”

Hugh: “The seas were good to us, it was a very smooth voyage.”

Butler Seal: “While the staff is taking your luggage to your room. Can I speak to you about the letter you sent?”

Hugh: “Of course.”

Butler Seal: “In your letter, you said you’d be visiting, but how long can I hope to have you here for.?”

Hugh: “It truly depends on how much I like my stay within Escalon. My father has already handed over all ruling authority of the empire to me and I want to see if this could be my home base.”

The butler bowed quickly and spoke.

“I apologize, Your Highness, I had no knowledge that you have finally been appointed as Demon King.”

“It’s quite alright, news hasn’t been spread yet.”

He stood straight and looked at me once more.

Butler Seal: “Well I’m glad to hear you’ll be staying here for an extended period, finally I have a master to serve.”

Hugh: “I'm glad you are so eager...Though if you’re able can you make an announcement to the public?”

Butler Seal: “Is it to inform the public of your rising to the throne.?”

Her smile, personality, sweetness, breath, countless things and I can never pinpoint which stood out most of all. I walked I thought of what she would be up to, how she was doing. I thought of when she’d come to visit us again and finally say she’ll stay forever. Though when I looked up at the door I went back to reality. The two girls opened the door and spoke at the same time saying, “Welcome Your Highness.”

I walked in looking around and they came in as well. They did another bow.

They spoke as they did so saying, “We hope you have a wonderful stay Your Highness. Please call us if you need anything at all..”

“Thank you.”

They left shortly after. I walked slowly to the bed and fell in on my stomach. I closed my eyes and then opened them.

‘Was that the right thing to do.?’

My hand clasped into a fist and I looked sternly at it.

“You can do this, once you win, no one can ever look down on you. No one can say you are anything other than the Demon King.”

My eyes closed, easing the grip in my hand.

‘I hope Sylphy doesn’t hate me after she finds out.’
