"How dare the Lu and the Xur families do this! How dare they insult me! Dad, please permit me to bring men into China to slaughter those clans! They have to pay the price for humiliating the Chu family!"
Inside the room, Chu Qi-Tian's furious voice boomed.
Chu Qi-Tian had never suffered such a colossal insult before.
How could they scold his ancestors and call him a bastard?
Who could swallow this?
However, Chu Qi-Tian was too young after all. In comparison, Chu Zheng-Liang didn't seem particularly upset.
He comforted him, "Qi-Tian, calm down. They are just two insignificant families. It's a piece of cake for us to destroy them. As the future leader of the Chu family, how can you get angry over ants like them? You have to focus on why this happened. These families had always treated us with respect for years. Now both of them suddenly decided to sever ties with the Chu family. There must be some reason they are doing this. Gather any information on China, especially those regarding these families, and find out why things have changed."
Since Chu Zheng-Liang was capable of taking over Chu Zheng-Hong as the head of the family, he was naturally an able man.
Amid Chu Qi-Tian's fury, he had already recognized the problem at the root.
He had a feeling that that was a bigger problem behind these actions.
Sure enough, Chu Qi-Tian hurried back ten minutes later.
"Dad, as you expected, something happened to the Lu and Xur families. Xur Jun-Lin, the leader of the Xur family, passed away and was quietly buried. Of his two sons, one was jailed while the other was suspended and demoted in the army. As for the Lu family, their entire clan was banished from Yanjing completely!"
Chu Qi-Tian reported the matter to his father anxiously.
Chu Zheng-Liang's expression immediately fell and darkened.
Chu Zheng-Liang couldn't help feeling more worried when he heard the outcome of the report.
"Why? Were you able to find out why?" asked Chu Zheng-Liang even though he had an inkling.
Chu Qi-Tian shook his head. "The channels have all been sealed. All our informants in China were incapable of finding out the details.”
Chu Zheng-Liang laughed coldly. "It seems that abandoned kid has gotten to the two families alright."
"That abandoned kid?" Chu Qi-Tian's face twitched. "Dad, do you mean the trouble these families are causing have something to do with Chu Tian-Fan? But didn't you kill him at sea? Do you mean he survived?"
Chu Qi-Tian was shocked.
Although they had been investigating into Ye Fan's death since they still couldn't find any concrete proof of his death, Chu Qi-Tian felt Ye Fan was already dead. It was impossible for him to have survived that attack.
Hence, he couldn't help trembling when he heard what his father said.
Chu Zheng-Liang nodded. "Sato and the others were killed one after another. The powers I sent to Jiangdong were attacked. All signs suggest he is alive. We really underestimated him. I didn't expect him to survive. Also, he already started to retaliate so quickly. Well done. He certainly is my brother's son and has the Chu family's blood running through him."
Chu Zheng-Liang laughed coldly, but his voice sounded murderous.
