Chapter 149 Jocelyn Lambert
In the end, it was Cedric who couldn’t let go.
It would be a reasonable solution if he agreed to send Isabella anywhere outside Verde City.
But he didn’t.
“She’s blind now. If you ask her to leave Verde City, where can she go? Who will take care of her?” Cedric said as he looked at Natalie.
This statement seemed like an interrogation.
It was also a subtle way of accusing her of cruelty!
Natalie looked at him quietly with a smile on her lips. The laughter in her eyes was so obvious, unfamiliar,
and ridiculous.
“Nat…”
Seeing her smile like that, Cedric’s heart tightened.
He was about to reach for her hand, but Natalie pushed him away.
Closing her eyes, she said, ‘She’s my sister, right? Even I’m not worried about her well–being. As her brother–in–law, what are you worried about?”
Natalie had used their relations here and…..
With that, the concern and involvement Cedric was displaying for Isabella became even more ridiculous
and disgusting.
Cedric’s face changed.
He had never felt that this entanglement was contradictory before, but now… it was so awkward!
“She’s also Ivan’s sister…”
The original reason for taking care of Isabella now seemed so flimsy.
Ivan, huh?”
“Fine. Go and live the remainder of your life for Ivan’s sake!”
After saying that, Natalie ignored Cedric and went upstairs.
Cedric was about to follow, but Nigel stepped in and stopped him.
“Mr. Johnson, our lady is tired. It would be best if you leave!”
Cedric silently looked at the butler.
Nigel’s attitude was stern. He looked as if he would fight with all his might to stop Cedric from going up
the stairs tonight.
Upstairs, Natalie returned to the bedroom and headed straight for the bathroom. After splashing some
water on her face fiercely, she managed to calm herself a bit!
Before, she thought Cedric’s affair was disgusting.
But now, she felt that such involvement was annoying.
Isabella was her sister.
It was like a horrible nightmare, making her feel more uncomfortable than being cursed.
Just then, her phone vibrated!
Natalie picked it up. “Hello.”
“Nat, it’s me.” Stephen’s voice came from the other end of the line.
Natalie felt a bit better at hearing the older man’s voice.
“Uncle.”
“How’s it going with Irwin?”
“Very well!”
“That’s good.”
Stephen sounded quite pleased upon hearing that Natalie and Irwin were getting along well.
“Back in the day, I got along quite well with Cedric too.”
Her tone carried a hint of bitterness.
So, what kind of getting along was it with Irwin?
Upon hearing this additional remark, Stephen paused, then said, “Nat, I know you’re hurt, but you still need to make an effort to believe in relationships, okay?”
Natalie lowered her head, gazing at the reflection in the water. Even in the water, her pale complexion
was evident.
“I got it.”
Starting over was really exhausting, and she didn’t express this to Stephen.
Getting along, huh?
Cedric and she had gotten along very well. How many people had envied their relationship?
But in the end?
All they were left with was a tragic outcome!
Cedric couldn’t remember how he left Elegance Bay. Looking at the grandiose castle-like place, it felt like
Natalie had become a princess.
However, the prince pampering her was not him.
In the car, Cedric smoked one cigarette after another. Finally, he picked up the phone and called Lucas.
“I don’t care how you do it. Get Irwin out of Verde City!”
Since Natalie couldn’t be swayed, he had to start with Irwin
“Yes, sir!” Lucas responded solemnly from the other end of the line.
Cedric hung up and rewatched the two video clips Christopher sent him. He watched them repeatedly
How could she leave him behind?
Little did he know….
“No matter how far things have gone between Cedric and me, having Isabella living in the manor now is not appropriate.
