Chapter 44 The Reasons for Her Hatred
Cedric tightened his grip on her wrist, and Natalie stopped struggling.
She looked at him and said, “Tell me, what significance does that place hold for me?”
Cedric narrowed his eyes. In the next moment, he stated firmly, “You know I won’t divorce you.”
The underlying message was clear. Cedric was telling Natalie that since she was aware of this, she
should stop trying to make trouble.
That was the best choice she could make right now.
In the past, Natalie would have complied.
But now, things were different.
Taking a deep breath, she said. “Then give me a reason to stay by the side of a man who wants me to
disappear for the sake of another woman!”
Cedric’s breath caught in his throat.
Isabella was now like a ticking time bomb between them. As soon as she was mentioned, an explosion
was guaranteed!
The two locked eyes. Cedric looked at the defiant woman, his disappointment growing. He thought about
how the public opinion in Verde City was shifting against her. Even those who had previously supported
her were now favoring Isabella.
“Do you even know what Verde City is like now? If this continues, you won’t be able to stay here anymore.”
Cedric warned.
That was a fact, especially if she didn’t have him protecting her.
Natalie retorted, “Don’t waste your time worrying about me, Cedric. My presence in Verde City doesn’t
matter. You know that.”
For the past few years, she had been living in Verde City solely because of the man in front of her.
She was only still in the city because she was waiting for the divorce
If they did indeed divorce, her connection to Verde City would cease to exist. She would be indifferent to
where she lived.
Though, of course…

Until she had sorted things out with Isabella, she wouldn’t leave. She wouldn’t mind if those people obtained what they wanted as long as it was within reason.
However, if they wanted to trample on her to get ahead, they had to go through her!
As Natalie had thought, the public opinion had gone completely wild. When Bianca returned home from work in the evening, she received several packages in Natalie’s name.
When Bianca called Natalie, the latter replied without hesitation, “Throw them all in the trash; don’t open
any of them.”
“Is it those things again?” Bianca asked.
“Yeah,” Natalie replied with a sigh.
She hadn’t expected those people to be so relentless and evil. She thought a few months abroad would
help her avoid such a predicament.
Who would have thought things would get even worse?
Natalie laid out all the documents Dylan had sent for everyone in a meeting. It gave everyone a better understanding of the development plans for the eastern suburbs.
“Let’s get to work,” Natalie said.
And once again, she immersed herself in her work.
The outside world was in turmoil, and the weather in Verde City was mirroring Natalie’s situation–gloomy and rainy.
Regardless of the chaos outside, Natalie remained focused on her work. She paid no attention to anything else.
As for the matter with Isabella, Stephen was helping with the investigation. He was also helping her with her business.
Right now, she had nothing else to worry about but her work. All she had to do was concentrate on her designs, which was the most significant way she could strike back against those who opposed her! *
“When are they going to divorce?”
“You don’t want to continue pretending? That’s easy. Just do whatever it takes to blind that woman, and you won’t need to pretend anymore,” Isabella said.
