How much had he invested in her, only to want to wash his hands of it all now?
Suddenly, he grabbed her slender waist. Amidst the dizziness, she found herself in his arms.
Warmth enveloped her, and then came the onslaught of kisses!
Natalie struggled, but the man's grip tightened. He was being more ruthless than before!
At that moment, his presence seemed filled with resignation, silent agony, and something even more sinister. It was as if he wished to merge her into his very bones.
Warm fingertips grazed her cheek as Cedric said, "If this is what you want, I'll grant it."
Since the dilemma in Wexford was meant to trap him, let her watch!
If this could bring her a bit of relief, then he... would grant her wish.
"You're not granting anything. This is your just punishment!"
Natalie's tone was icy!
Her hollow eyes held no emotion, but her words dripped with venom. As Cedric held her, he could feel her presence but no warmth.
She seemed devoid of warmth... or perhaps, any warmth she had was extinguished by Cedric himself, leaving only her coldness.
"You're right, this is my just punishment," Cedric echoed her words.
But whatever it was, it was what she wanted to see. Since it was what she wanted, he... would give her everything!
Another kiss descended, and it was filled with how much Cedric was reluctant to leave.
Natalie struggled!
Yet, Cedric held her hands tightly, and he was relentless in his demands!
But all he received was her icy response.
Such a response made his heart bleed continuously, yet he... had no right, nor the strength, to blame her.
After a long time, Cedric finally released her.
He clutched her tightly in his arms. "I felt it!"
His tone was so bitter!
Even pained!
He said he felt it!
He felt her coldness... and her indifference!
So, one should never easily hurt a woman's heart. More importantly, never cross a woman's bottom line. When she truly gave up on a man, he wouldn't even have a chance to hear her grievances.
However, Natalie... brought up old grudges!
She never gave him even a glimmer of hope for their future.
It was as if they never had a future, to begin with!

In the end, Cedric left on the third day. He left after watching Natalie drink the medicine with his own eyes.
"Miss." Lydia's eyes were filled with worry as she watched Natalie.
During this time, Natalie and Cedric were inseparable. He stayed by her side day and night, watching her take the medicine. He also warmed her body at night until she fell asleep.
If only they hadn't faced so many twists and turns. Natalie wouldn't have been in such a plight in Cedric's world.
"Has he left?" Natalie asked.
"Yes." Lydia nodded.
"Good. He's gone!"
Her tone was cold and indifferent. It was as if the departing person meant nothing to her.
She was already in a sorry state!
She didn't want anyone to see her like this. She had been clamoring to return to Simeria. But now that she couldn't see, she didn't want to go back because... she didn't want her parents to see her like this!
"Lydia."
"Yes, Miss."
"What color clothes am I wearing today?" Natalie suddenly asked.
During this time, she rarely asked about these every day matters! At most, she inquired about what was in the yard.
But now, she asked.
It showed how sad a person unable to see truly was, not even knowing the color of the clothes they were wearing.
