Chapter 89 Never Hesitated to Divorce
“W–what’s going on? Christina nervously looked at Rebecca.
A sense of danger was flashing in her mind!
Why would Rebecca suddenly make such a request, asking Christina to treat Isabella better if nothing had
happened?
Christina had been living by Rebecca’s side for many years, and she knew very well what kind of person
her adoptive mother was,
She was a proud and arrogant woman. If Isabella hadn’t done anything to her, Rebecca wouldn’t have
changed her views so easily!
Rebecca looked at Christina and took a deep breath. When she next spoke, her voice betrayed her unease.
“She is your brother’s benefactor and… our family’s benefactor.”
“Benefactor!?” Christina was taken aback.
“Yes,” Rebecca nodded.
Rebecca began recounting the events of that incident, which had haunted her for many years. Even
though it had happened many years ago, it still gave her nightmares from time to time.
No matter how strong she appeared on the outside, she had her own vulnerabilities.
And Cedric…!
Cedric was her son, and the most fatal weakness she had.
Rebecca retold the story from beginning to end. The more Christina heard, the more her heart churned.
She had never expected Isabella’s brother, Ivan, to have such a deep connection with their family.
Rebecca concluded, “She’s Ivan’s only family in this world. So naturally, we have to treat her well.”
Yes, you’re right…” Christina echoed with a forced smile.
But in her heart, turmoil raged,
She watched Rebecca speaking with unexpected tenderness when mentioning Isabella.
het kind of person was leabella? 11 wasn’t as if Christina didn’t know!
How could Rebecca show such kindness to someone so easily?
Isabella… Christina had truly underestimated that woman!
Christina had finally managed to drive Natalie away, and now there was Isabella!
With how easily she could captivate the hearts of the Johnson family members, Christina knew she had
her work cut out for her.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Isabella realized that her attending physician was missing. She tried calling
him, but none of the three calls had been answered.
Just then, a nurse entered the room.
“Ms. Morgan.”
“Where did my attending physician go?” Isabella asked.
“Dr. Landry is in charge now,” the nurse replied.
“What do you mean?”
“Dr. Walton has resigned.”
“Resigned? Isabella was surprised. She tried to hide her growing panic. She looked at the young nurse with disbelief.
The nurse nodded. “Yes, he resigned. He already stopped working here.”
Upon hearing this, Isabella’s heart skipped a beat. Her complexion worsened, and she couldn’t believe it. She didn’t even know when the nurse left.
She tried calling Dr, Walton again.
Now she realized that it wasn’t because he was too busy to answer her calls, but rather… because he was avoiding her.
Hah, He truly dared to do this!
Each lime she called, there was no answer.
The moment she hung up, Christina called her.
“You really have some nerve,” Christina sarcastically said over the phot
Isabella had never considered Christina to be worth her attention, but now she asked, “Was Dr. Walton
resigning your doing?”
From the beginning to the end, all Christina wanted was to make Natalie and Cedric divorce.
You openly claimed that you woul never be with Ced, but you’re secretly using underhanded methods to make my mother like you!”
Christina had been so focused on her goal of getting Natalie out of the family. She had completely overlooked this approaching threat!
Isabella was a much more complicated person to deal with compared to Natalie!
Isabella’s face turned somewhat unpleasant, and a glint of malevolence flickered in her eyes.
