A Flash Marriage Can Be A Treasure novel Chapter 430

After saying that, he feels that something is wrong and looks at Lily with curiosity, "Ms. Lily, did you sleep here last night?"

"Yes."

David gasps with surprise and finally understands why Mr. Smith often looked at him unhappily last night. It turns out that he interrupted their dating!

David leans closer and gossips, "Then are you back together with Mr. Smith?"

He has worked for Louis for so many years, so he knows Louis well. If he doesn't care about Lily, he would never go to Country Y to help her last time, and he even let her stay here last night.

Apart from Lily and Mr. Smith's pet dog and cat, nobody has stayed here overnight even including him, Mr. Smith's special assistance.

He remembers that he was kicked out when he wanted to sleep on the sofa after working until dawn last year.

David sighs and thinks that he even lives worse than two pets!

"We have broken up, and we won't get back together again." Lily says indifferently.

She still remembers what Louis said last night. She will get rid of him and no longer have any extravagant hope.

David is stunned. "Then, Ms. Lily, you stayed here last night..."

"It is kind of Mr. Smith to let me stay here because he was afraid that I couldn't leave in the heavy rain."

David is even more dumbfounded.

To him who was kicked out by Mr. Smith last night, Lily's words are not convincing!

Lily ignores David and puts the bowls and chopsticks into the kitchen. She knows that the cleaner will come, so she doesn't wash them but just soaks the bowls in the sink.

When she comes out, she catches a glimpse of two baskets of oranges in the corner and her eyes darken slightly.

After a while, Lily says to David, "Take these two baskets of oranges into the car and I'll pack things up and leave."

Seeing that David stands still, Lily calls again, "David?"

David returns to his senses and asks, "Take what?"

Lily points to the corner and he looks over. Seeing two baskets of oranges, he almost blurts out, "Holy shit!"

Could it be Mr. Smith who called someone to deliver them last night?

David thinks that Mr. Smith treats Ms. Lily so well because he puts up her at home and cooks breakfast for her by himself. But why is she so indifferent towards Mr. Smith?

David's heart is filled with gossips, but he knows that Lily will not tell him anything. He rolls up his sleeves and carries the two baskets of oranges into the car.

Lily rummages around the cat nest and finds a square cat box.

When she wants to grab Lucky beside her foot, she discovers that Lucky has disappeared, and Rich isn't here either.

"Lucky?" Lily calls twice.

Lucky meows.

Lily faintly hears Lucky's meowing and finds that the voice comes from the back of cabinet.

She walks over to the cabinet and sees that the chubby Lucky is stuck inside and it can't move.

"What are you doing here?" Lily is confused.

Luckily, it is a custom-made log cabinet for holding odds and ends, so she quickly moves it away.

Lucky quickly jumps out and waves its tail.

Just as Lily is about to move the cabinet back, she notices a red bag in the crack.

Lily stretches out her hand to grab it. The thing she touches is so hard and it is covered by a layer of red cloth. After opening it, she discovers that it is a white jade statue that a charitable Guanyin was surrounded by countless children.

This...

Children-Sending Guanyin (Chinese bodhisattva of fertility, similar to Goddess Hera)?

Lily still wonders why it is placed in the corner of the cabinet, and suddenly recalls that when she came back with Louis that day, she vaguely heard him ask Antony what he was hiding behind the cabinet. After Antony left, she also wanted to see it, but Louis stopped her.
