Chapter 217 

Lucy’s POV 

Finished 

I hear mournful howling and with every howl my heart breaks a little more for the loss that that person has endured. 

I feel that I am still in that comfort–zone I woke up to earlier and I snuggle in deeper. It makes me feel safe and protected, it becomes tighter, yet it is not uncomfortable. 

I hear the unfamiliar voice again, but this time it is not talking to me. The voice sounds infuriated and I feel my comfort–zone move. Because I don’t want to lose it, I pull my arms tighter around it. 

“Lucy, open your eyes. Doll. I need to know that you are okay.” I hear next to my car. My eyes fly open as I realize I am in Daniel’s arms, 

I push myself up to look at him and I see a look in his eyes I have never seen before. I am not sure if I want to jump out of his arms and make a run for it or that I want to sink back in to my comfort–zone. 

He is still holding on to me, but I can feel that he is not trying to stop me. There are so many questions I want to ask, but the tension in the room is starting to make me feel uncomfortable. 

Lucy, are you okay. I am sorry for making the wrong decisions, I will bear the consequences. But I need you to know that I thought I was doing the right thing for you. 

You were finally free, only to be thrown in to the Mate–bond. I didn’t want to make you feel trapped. I am so sorry, Doll.” I can hear the sincerity in his voice. 

“I know you didn’t mean to hurt me, but next time you better talk to me first! I say as I look in to his eyes. He grabs my face and pulls me in for a kiss, the feeling of his lips on mine makes me gasp. 

He takes advantage and deepens the kiss, then someone clears their throat. I reluctantly break the kiss and look in the direction of the person in the room with us 

“Who are you and what are you doing here?” I ask the woman sitting in a chair next to our beds.. 

She smiles at me and then turns her attention to Daniel The look on her face is not friendly and I wonder who she is. 

“Son, if you ever screw up again, you don’t have to worry about me coming for you. I have a feeling your Mate is more than capable of taking you down by herself.” She says and he just nods his head. 

“You were talking to me.” I whisper as I recognize the voice that told me not to give up. She smiles at me again and leans down to kiss my forehead. She leaves the room without saying another word. 

“As you might have guessed that is my Mother. She was mad at me for not telling her about you. She scolded me for being stupid, as if I had not figured that but yet. 

She told me that even though she understood my reasoning. I should have talked to you about it. 

And she is right, I know you can take me down yourself Just know that my Mom will be there to help if you need it” His last words send me in to a fit of laughter and I put my hand on his cheek. 

“Daniel, I appreciate what you were trying to do. But we already wasted enough time, Just stop

Someone is nudging my side and I groan because I dont want to wake up. I feel sore but in a good way and it is nice and cozy lying here, so I have no intention of getting up soon. 

“Princess, you better wake up and get dressed before your Fathers break down the door.” It is then that I hear the pounding on the door. 

I look at Jordan and a smile spreads across my face “Goodmorning Handsome.” I peck his lips and as I pull
