A Girl’s Diary novel Chapter 27

"Thank you so much for doing this!" The mall's manager said for the millionth time today. My only condition for him was not mentioning what the big event was about. I knew for sure the queen-bees wouldn't miss this for anything. This meant I was going to make Fabia regret ever pretending to be me.

She thought I was an easy target? Huh, watch me now!

I was sitting in the security room watching the security cameras and then I spotted them. I was over the moon. This was going to work; I've never been so happy to see someone I hate that much!

I happily moved to my spot at the lowest level of the mall. The lights fainted and a single dazzling light shot on Fabia. That was my plan! I fixed my mic while everyone was murmuring about her. She shot a big smile not knowing what was coming next.

Another bright light lighted my spot and I was on cloud nine.

"Hey everybody. Surprise!" I said making jazz hands. "This event is especially for that special girl up there." I waved at her. "Fabia, so nice to see you. Or should I say me huh?" I laughed a bit and she ran away. You don't mess with me and get away with it. People were taking pictures with their phones and videos. This was so going to go viral! "Now, who's ready for a song?!" I said energetically and the crowd erupted.

This was pure bliss!

"First, remove the glasses and that's seventy percent of the work done!" Tommy said out of nowhere, earning him a look that questioned his sanity from me. "I'm serious, it's written in every nerdy girl makeover manual!" What the heck? We were walking to the hairstyler's. Because apparently, I needed a new haircut. I was so sad to let go of my cute braids and my long long hair. If they cut my hair short, Cinnamon would need a wig! We couldn't get our hair cut at the same time! "We'll tell everyone you put on contacts."

"Oh, the irony, I always wear contacts!" I chuckled. "Now, the only difference will be telling people."

"And your eyes are gorgeous but I know why you hide them." He said. "You don't want to bewitch guys." He shrugged making me double over in laughter. What? "I called Skyler by the way, we need a girl's opinion. Not that my opinion isn't enough but she'd murder us both in our sleep if we don't include her in the great makeover." He said.

Our school trip was going to be tomorrow. And for some reason, Tommy thought it would be a good idea to do this now. When mom heard about this, she was practically jumping. She even gave me her credit card!

"Can we keep my hair tall?" I asked both my friends as we looked through magazines trying to find the perfect haircut. Oh, and did I forget to mention they wanted me to dye my hair. I was so against this, my hair was a pretty jet black and I didn't want to look like a Barbie. But then I decided I wanted to try putting some highlights there since I wasn't about to cut it into a bob or something.

I gave myself another look in the mirror. I looked good as much as I felt. My hair was layered with hints of deep purple and silver. This would have looked so much better with my silvery eyes! It really felt refreshing to change my look a little. Even if I missed my quirky glasses.

"Next stop, clothes." He smirked. I did not like that. At all! "Lots of it," Tommy announced.

Their idea of shopping wasn't what I had in mind. Who would even want to wear all these skimpy clothes? However, I put some restrictions. But I also agreed to show some skin. And when I said some, I did not mean a lot.

I got some skinny jeans, ripped jeans and a short just to make them shut up. It wasn't like I was going to wear it anyway but whatever. My new wardrobe was cute and wouldn't make me uncomfortable. It was getting me out of my comfort zone a bit but jot totally so it wasn't so bad!
