How could Andres bear to let go of such a captivating woman?
Bella turned to Jack after finishing tidying up and gently said, "I'll head back now. Remember to go shopping with me tomorrow, no backing out!"
Luca returned to the dorm after Bella left.
He continued to play with the guitar in his hands, trying to perfect his song. Meanwhile, Jack felt eye strain from staring at the computer screen for too long. He then sat on the bed flipping through a psychology book.
Luca seemed a little frustrated. He would occasionally put down the guitar and gaze out the window, sometimes frowning deeply.
Jack couldn't help but ask, "Is there any problem?"
Luca sighed helplessly. He initially thought there was no need to say much since Jack didn't understand music. But then, he felt it would be too cold to ignore his roommate.
So, he answered in a detached tone, "There are some issues with the song."
"Is this university singing competition important to you?" Jack asked again.
"Very important," Luca replied seriously. "Many big names in the music industry started on this platform. Since the school gave me this opportunity, I don't want to give up."
Pursuing a music career had always been Luca's dream, and he would never give up.
Jack nodded.
It was no wonder that Luca was taking it so seriously. It seemed that Luca had pinned all his dreams on this platform.
Jack then gently asked, "Who composed the song for you?"
Jack seemed unaware of Luca's irritation. He stretched out his hand and asked, "Would you mind letting me take a look at the music sheet?"
Luca hesitated for a moment, then handed the music sheet to Jack. He wanted to see what kind of insight he might have.
Jack took the music sheet and studied it carefully, occasionally tracing something with his finger.
Finally, Jack pointed to the music sheet and said, "Here and here—I think the handling of the third note could be improved. You could try using a fifth instead. Also, here—the lyric you sang ends with an 'a' sound, but changing it to 'ya' would make it more melodic.
"As for these parts, you could experiment with them. You'll discover something new if you make these adjustments..."
Jack spoke seriously, and it sounded convincing. At least, at that moment, Luca couldn't detect any flaws. What Jack said made sense.
Especially after Luca thought it over carefully, he felt a sudden sense of enlightenment. It was as if Jack's few words had opened up a whole new world to him.
