"Never mind. Life is full of goodbyes. I'm more than content to receive so much love from the listeners over the past six months. I'm genuinely grateful."
Jack took a deep breath before continuing to say, "But I want to ask you for a favor before I leave. Can you help me to say goodbye to the listeners? If I do it myself, I'd feel like something is not perfect."
"Okay, I got it." Phoebe lowered her head and pondered for a moment before she looked up with a determined gaze.
She said, "What if… I said I want you to stay. Would you? If you have things to handle, you can take care of it first. I'll be waiting for you in the studio until you're done. Until you come back."
Hearing this, Jack's eyes instantly widened in surprise, as if it was hard to believe.
He looked at Phoebe and realized that she looked calm, as if she didn't realize how much of a misunderstanding her words could bring to someone who liked her.
Perhaps Phoebe only asked him to stay because she simply appreciated Jack's talent in broadcasting.
But her words warmed Jack's heart. Especially the phrase, "I'll be waiting for you in the studio", made Jack's heart palpitate uncontrollably. Finally, he nodded and said with a smile, "Okay, I promise you."
Jack didn't need another reason to stay. Phoebe's words were enough.
However, there was a hint of guilt in his heart because he had planned to quit his broadcast to spend more time with Bella. Now, it seemed like he would have to break this promise.
Seeing that Jack had promised to stay, Phoebe smiled brightly, "That's great! Go do your things. Just remember to come back after you're done."
As Jack left the radio station, his footsteps were noticeably lighter.
In two days, he and Patrick would be signing the contract with the powerful investor.
