Shawn's joints cracked as he stepped closer to Jack, his fists clenched and ready.
Suddenly, a loud shout interrupted him, "What the hell's going on here?"
Boris had just stepped out of the private room to use the restroom and stumbled upon the scene.
Shawn paused, then sneered. "You've got ten seconds to get lost, or I'll take you down with him!"
Boris shot him a look of pure disdain. "Try it, dumbass."
Just then, the door to the private room swung open, and Howard rushed out with a group of men. "What's going on? What's happening?"
Suddenly, there were over a dozen men on Jack's side, while Shawn only had a handful of guys with him. The odds were no longer in Shawn's favor.
Shawn was no fool. He could tell Boris and his men weren't to be trifled with. He let out a cold snort. "Fine. You've got guts."
With a wave of his hand, he barked, "Let's go!"
A smart man knows when to retreat. Shawn figured as long as he knew Jack was the one behind this, he'd have plenty of chances to deal with him later.
Seeing Shawn and his men leaving with darkened expressions, Boris turned to Jack and said, "If you need anything, just say the word."
Jack nodded. After saying goodbye to Boris, he headed downstairs with Wesley and Francis.
Wesley, who knew of Shawn's reputation, looked at Jack with concern. "Shawn's not someone to mess with. Maybe we should call the police?"
But Jack assured him he'd be fine; he'd just have to avoid Shawn from now on.
