Kyle said those words as if he had something to prove.

"What? Noel loves you?’ Cordy scoffed. "Noel only loves what I have, and she has to steal everything I want."

"Don't bother trying to drive a wedge between me and Noel-"

"Well then, why are the Sachs standing idly by while Jessop Corp is in crisis? If Noel loves you so much, why doesn't she get them to give you the capital injection you need?’ Cordy shot back.

"Your father Simon's the one who's being too materialistic. Noel even argued with him to try and help me/ Kyle retorted.

"Oh? Is that so?" Cordy asked. "And has the outcome changed at all?"

"How could Noel possibly have the power to change Simon's mind?"

"Kyle, I have to say... You wouldn't have fallen into such ruin if you hadn't met Noel in this lifetime."

"Cordy!" Kyle was humiliated by her sarcasm.

"Simon is a man who loves his reputation. While you're engaged to Noel, it’d be impossible for him to reject a request for help from you. Once it gets out that he did, it'd only humiliate him. Those in the business industry pay attention to reputation too, you know? Once trust and credibility have been lost, how do you think one would gain a foothold in the market?" Cordy argued fiercely. "If Noel was sincere in helping you, Simin definitely would've given you the financial help you needed. But obviously, Noel doesn't want to help you. She's even going to use this affair to sever her ties with you."

"Did you think I'd believe your bullsh*t?!’ Kyle spat with a contemptuous laugh. "You're just trying to drive us apart to get back at us for being so in love! I'm not afraid to tell you this, Cordy. After knowing my family was in trouble and knowing that her father wouldn't help, Noel told me to go for you. She also told me that you have what I need, and that I need to think of a way to ensure you have no choice but to work with me! She knew we once had feelings for each other, but endured it to help me. There will never be another woman in this world who'd love me with all her heart like Noel!"

"With all her heart?" Cordy laughed. The man's idiotic words honestly amused her. 'Kyle, have you ever thought about it? Would someone who loves you so much let you sell your body and soul to someone else? Think about it from another perspective. If the Sachs were in trouble, and Noel used her body to get financial help, can you accept it?"

Kyle was dumbfounded and speechless at Cordy's words. It took a long time before he could finally say, "...Noel would never betray me."

"I'll tell you plainly the reason she's doing this. She's going to play the victim and use this whole farce to get rid of you," Cordy said slowly, as if she was talking to a child. ‘Once something happens between us, Noel will use it as an excuse and claim you cheated on her first. She'll stab you in the back and break up with you. The Sachs will be able to decline you any financial help while acting righteous about it. It's such a simple and easy plan. How could you not see it?!"
