A Life Debt Repaid novel (John and Cordy) novel Chapter 959

Jean remained silent.

Someone who could attain the position and power she had was certainly not simple.

She would neither casually arrive at a conclusion about anything nor easily admit that she was wrong. Even if she was persuaded by another, she would not admit to it.

She would only brush past the issue as if it were nothing.

She said calmly, "I shouldn't be interfering in you young people's affairs, but you know very well that Nana's condition is not like any other ordinary person's, and we can't take it lightly. Whatever it is, I don't want something like this to happen again. It's getting late and you've been running around the entire night. Take the time while Nana is sleeping to get some rest."

"Okay," John said.

Jean left, and John heaved a inward sigh of relief as she saw Jean's retreating figure.

He had to gain Jean's absolute trust at this point. It would otherwise be difficult for him to gain a footing in the Lynd household and do anything further.

It was just that…

His fingers tightened over his phone.

Cordy and Patrick…

Richard was right.

No one would stay at the same spot waiting forever.

He lost her, but he had no other choice.

-

It was the last day of filming for the first episode of The Journey of Love 2.

After going out to sea, they returned to the homestay.

The production team did not have much plans for the last day, so they allowed the five pairs of guests to gather for a meal, each family contributing one dish to the feast.

Zoe woke up naturally and realized that Jay was no longer by her side.

She furrowed her brows.

There were not supposed to be any special activities today, and the gathering was only scheduled to start at night.

It was only eight in the morning. Where did Jay go?

Afterward, she and Patrick spent some time together. By the time she was in bed, it was already four or five in the morning.

Even after washing up and winding down on the bed, she did not manage to fall asleep after a long time.

Her mind was in a mess, but she felt like she had really let things go.

Because even though she did think a lot, she eventually managed to fall asleep.

She even slept very soundly.

If it were not for Zoe's phone call out of the blue, she might have been able to sleep till noon.

She answered the call blearily. "Zoe."

"You're still sleeping?!" Zoe exclaimed.

She always thought that Cordy never needed sleep.

No matter when she called Cordy, even if it was in the middle of the night, Cordy would always be wide awake, ready to chat with her.

Yet today, her voice sounded like she had just woken up!
