Chapter 10
Alena
After taking a quick shower, I couldn’t wait to get into bed. I wanted nothing else but to sleep the fatigue away. The doors from the terrace were opened and I was enjoying the view until I fell asleep. It was peaceful
As the morning sun shined on my skin, I opened my eyes before turning to the other side, trying to block it from my face. It wasn’t the sun that caught me by the surprise but the presence of another person beside me. His body was packed with muscles, and they were solid. It didn’t take me long to guess who it was, but I decided to look anyway.
Matteo freaking Lerclerc.
He was sound asleep beside me without a pair of shirt. He was only wearing grey sweatpants, but it was covered with the duvet. In his sleep, he looked calmer–peaceful, even. He didn’t look troubled and there wasn’t a single frown on his face. So, he was such a beautiful human being, even when he was sleeping.
I knew he was going to come and sleep in with me because there was only one bed in this suite, but I just didn’t expect he was still going to be beside me after I woke up.
He did look a little bit tired yesterday.
I didn’t want to wake him up, but I couldn’t hold back my sneeze, either.
Matteo’s eyes opened and they met mine in an instant as I tried to hide the embarrassment. “Sorry,
He shook his head. “It’s fine.”
Oh my god, his voice was deeper than usual because he just woke up. It was s***y and it was starting to turn me on, especially when he started stretching before he began to sit up. He knew lits body was perfect and from the way he was flexing his muscles, it was a show to me. I was enjoying every second.
“When did
you get back?”
“Quite late. You were already sleeping,” he replied.
“Mm,
sorry if I took a lot of space. I was tired,”
“I understand. I could’ve slept on the couch, but I decided I was going to have a better sleep in bed. I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable.”
He stood up, heading towards the terrace. The way his grey sweatpants were hanging low around his hip, it was doing things to me. If he was mine, I would’ve pulled the sweatpants down and went on my knees, but he wasn’t mine. He was going to be my fake husband.
We were going to marry. It was going to legitimate but his heart was never going to belong to me–neither was my heart. I needed to lock it far away from here because I was scared if I ended up giving my heart even when it wasn’t needed.
I made my way towards him, leaning against the door frame.
“Someone will send up a few white dresses for you. You can choose whichever you like,” he said without turning to look at me. Thave to leave for a quick meeting–Angelo will take you to the beach this evening, before the sun sets.”
“Will it just be me and you?”
“Yes I just thought the beach was going to make the pictures look pretty,”
I cleared my throat, “Did you hire a photographer?”

Chapter 101
“Mm, and a videographer. For proof–in case your parents decided to come up with a different plan. You expect us to look as loving as possible, correct?”
Matteo had planned everything thoroughly. He knew what was going to happen when we head back home, and he wanted things to go well. I couldn’t run away now; we were just hours away from getting married.
I kept quiet, only nodding my head as an answer as if he could see me. He wasn’t even looking
He was being cold and serious to me because it was only the two of us. Nobody was around to see us or listened to how we talk to each other. It was perfect just how easily he could begin acting even though he wasn’t like that in the first place. He put on a perfect show for the public to see, he wasn’t going to risk getting caught.
He was acting as if this meant more to him than to me.
If we were caught to be pretending, he wasn’t going to risk anything. I was going to risk my life. Papa was going to force me to marry Viktor and I couldn’t find another way out. So, I was more at risk than Matteo.
A knock was heard from the front door and Matteo quickly made his way to open the door, but he did manage to put his shirt on.
Angelo stepped inside with a couple of other people, they were carrying a luggage and black bags–they looked like makeup bags. Another person was bringing in a railing which had a few dresses, they were all white. I couldn’t properly see them, but they weren’t too fancy.
They looked perfect for a beach wedding.
Angelo and Matteo began to speak in Italian.
I stood and watched as the makeup artist and the stylist made their way towards me. They began eyeing my features before. twirling me around. “Perfect face. Perfect figure. There won’t be a problem in making you look perfect for tonight.” One of them said, smiling.
I began to take a seat as they prepared for the makeup and so on
“Do you have preferences on how you want your makeup to look?”
“Surprise me.” I smiled, and they seemed to like my response.
Matteo disappeared from the room to only come back with a clean shirt in his hand. He made his way towards me before whispering in my ear, “You’re showing too much cleavage, baby Wear this for me,”
1 blinked a few times, looking down at my sleepwear. It was a satin nightgown which ended nicely on my thighs, but he was right it was showing more skin. It was showing the perfect amount of cleavage but why did it bother him?
Was he jealous of Angelo? He was the only man in the room, other than himself..
I nodded, putting the shirt on because I wasn’t in any mood to argue.
“Good girl,” he pecked my cheek. “Angelo will take you to the beach this evening. I’ll meet you there.”
Then, just like that, he was leaving.
I was Teft, sitting, and hoping I was going to look breathtaking when they were done. They were taking their time in getting me ready. It had been a while since I was pampered or being given by someone their full attention–I was feeling a little overwhelmed.
I had chosen my dress. It was an off–white lace dress without sleeves. It wasn’t puffy or anything as it ended nicely on my tiptoes. The dress hugged my figure perfectly, showing off my curves. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I was happy to see a beautiful woman.

Chapter 10
The dre
revealed the nice amount of skin and cleavage. I was breathtaking.
My hair was being tied half up and half down with a few white flowers. Once I was
ly, I could barely recognize myself. I had never thought I was going to see myself in a white wedding dress, Well, not being married to someone I didn’t love.
“You look stunning – magnificent!”
I smiled, my cheeks heating up at the compliment.
Angelo came a few minutes after I was ready and he was drivingne to the beach, while I was deep in thoughts. My heart was racing, and I was worried, but it had to be done. I had to tie the knot with Matteo if I didn’t want Viktor anywhere near me- I’d rather marry the Italian mafia boss instead of the Russian fellow,
When we arrived at the beach, I saw a small aisle.
Matteo was standing at the end of the aisle, he was wearing a tuxedo. As soon as he saw me walking down the aisle, he began to eye my every movement. We were looking into each other’s eyes. Neither of us showed any signs of looking away.
I wasn’t holding abouquet and he wasn’t wearing any boutonniere.
We were just us,
–
He grabbed my hand when I reached him, pulling me close.
“You look beautiful.”
Thank you” I muttered, looking down as I tried to hide my blushing cheeks. It was obvious but I pretended as if he couldn’t
see them.
“Shall we begin?” The officiant asked, smiling at us,
Matteo nodded as a response. He didn’t look away from me and it was starting to make me feel nervous, but I pretended that it didn’t bother me.
This was happening. We were getting married.
“Do you Matteo Lerclerc, take Alena Rose Orlov to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do”
“Do you Alena Rose Orlov, take Matteo Lerclerc to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
It may seem like I was hesitating, but I wasn’t. I knew there was no other way, and this was my idea, all along. The way Matteo didn’t hesitate either was a good confirmation. So, it was my turn to respond. “I do,”
He put the ring on my finger, and I did the same. The white gold band were identical but each ones had our initials engraved mine had his initial, M and his had mine, A. It was simple but it held a meaning, too. Even if we were starting off as a fake couple.
“I now
now pronounce you husband and wife.”
As soon as the officiant declared our status, Manteo didn’t waste any time to kiss my lips. It was mine, it looked like he was eager for a taste of my lips, but it wasn’t that. He was putting on a perfect act in front of the officiant and Angelo,
quick when his lips landed on
I wrapped my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss and he didn’t push me away, either. He placed both of his hands on my hips, trying to pull me in–if he could grab me closer and remove the distance between us, he was going to.
He bit my lower lip which caused my mouth to part, letting his tongue in
