Chapter 19
Alena
“Hi, big sis.” Ana, my sister called out. She was making her way towards me with a small smile plastered on her face and the instant I saw her, I was happy.
It had been months since I last saw her; it was at the charity event. The night that changed everything in my life. We could’ve spent time in better circumstances, but I couldn’t think of anything but myself in that moment.
I also didn’t want to trouble or worry her.
She had assignments and busy projects at her university. So, she needed all the focus she could get to ace.
“Ana, I didn’t expect to see you here.”
We were standing in the middle of a grocery store.
I just got off from work after I finished my shift and I thought I could use a walk around the grocery store, picking out anything. I had been filling the fridge ever since I lived alone, and it ended up becoming a habit even when I was no longer alone.
Matteo left me with his metal credit card and told me I could use it whenever I wanted.
C
Well, I did take it because I didn’t want to start an argument about why I was us my own money for grocery shopping-I didn’t use his card at all. He never said anything, maybe he didn’t check the bills but until he found out about it, I was going to keep using my money.
His card was unlimited. I knew that.
It didn’t feel right to use it when we were just living together.
Ana, my sister, pulled me in for a hug. “I heard about what happened with Papa last week. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you,”
Mama must’ve told her. She was good at keeping secrets but not so good at keeping it away from her daughters-she was bound to tell Ana, anyway. She was home most of the time if she wasn’t back in campus.
Well, she was the youngest, so she got special treatments, too.
“It would’ve been a family drama if you were there,”
She scoffed, “I bet. Are you done shopping? Should we head to get coffee or something to drink? We can talk more.”
“Sure, let me just pay for these.”
Once we were out of the grocery store, we made our way to the nearest café. We took seats near the window to enjoy the view as we both ordered an iced latté.
“So, how is the married life treating you?” She asked, smiling.
“I know you’re upset I didn’t tell you.”
“I was upset but I totally understand, Alena. Love makes you do crazy things such as flying away to Sicily and elope.”
“Ha, ha, ha, very funny. Since when you became sarcastic?” I tried to pinch her arm, just like how I used to do when she was little-it wasn’t to pinch until it was painful but only to tease her
Alexei used to do that, too. He tinkled her until she peed her
pants.

Chapter 19
C
“I just want to make you laugh. But seriously, Mama said nice things about your husband. So, I assume my brother-in-law is a good man to you.”
Matteo was a good man. I couldn’t deny that.
But he was a beast in bed, loving to please me. He found pleasure in my moans and my screams of his name. He loved calling me his whenever I was reaching my o***sm-I couldn’t help but wonder if we were only like that because of the sex.
He did treat me well other than sex. He showed his genuine care
So, yes… Matteo was a very good man.
Just, in a lot more ways than one.
“He treats me well. I’m happy,”
She grabbed a hold of my hand, “I can see it all over your face. You’re glowing.”
Some of my colleagues did say I was glowing, but I couldn’t actually see it. Maybe, I was much more relaxed-Matteo did know how to make me relax. So, even though I was stressed out with work and family related things, I was able to forget about them when I was with my husband.
He seemed to cook me breakfast now. Almost every single day.
“I heard you have a boyfriend.”
Ah… Alexei must’ve told you.”
“I’m glad he did. You’re so secretive,”
“Well, this isn’t about me. I want to talk about you,”
“What is there to talk about, Ana?”
“Like what happened between
you
and Papa.”
A never-ending story about me and Papa. He could’ve let it go when I came over to settle things with him. He could’ve said he was sorry, and we could move on like it never happened. At the end of the day, I was already married, even though it wasn’t with the man he wanted.
I wanted him back in my life. We drifted apart when I went to medical school but at least we weren’t fighting. At least he didn’t lose his patience and tried to hit me. I knew Papa, he was never the one to act that way with his family.
Yes, he was violent and ruthless in the Bratva but with his family he cherished them.
“Did
you know about Viktor?”
“No, I would’ve warned you if I did. Papa and Alexei never said anything about the Bratva with me.” She sighed, leaning back on her seat. “Alexei isn’t like how he used to be, either. He seems tired whenever he gets home, and he keeps shutting people out but he’s an adult. He can do whatever he wants.”
“You don’t have to get involved with them. I never did. And about Alexei, he’s too caught up with the whole Bratva thing. It’s not an easy world for them.”
“Yeah, I try to not go home as much but I feel bad for Mama. She’s lonely.”
“As you grow older Ana, you lose a few things. It’s life.”
“I try not to think about it too much. But about Papa, I know he didn’t mean to hurt you. Mama said Matteo made it just in

time to stop him.”
I nodded, “Lucky he was there.”

Matteo was probably eavesdropping before he stepped in when things got bad. I didn’t ask him if he listened, and I didn’t mind either. I was more than glad he was there-he prevented the worst thing from happening.
Ana and I talked about life, about her university and even about her boyfriend. She was happy when she talked about him because I could see her eyes sparkled. Well, she even tried to push the conversation on me about Matteo.
I didn’t know when, but I started to feel weird talking about him.
My cheeks were heating up whenever I mentioned his name.
When it got a bit late, we decided to go home. I arrived and parked my car in the garage, seeing that Matteo’s car was already here–he must’ve gotten home earlier. He was barely out at night anymore.
Ever since the thunderstorm tragedy, he made it a routine to sleep in my bed. So, I was no longer sleeping alone. Every night, we started off cuddling until I began to push him away in my sleep. Then, whenever we felt like it, we had sex in the morning.
Sometimes, even at night before going to bed.
I couldn’t help myself when it came to him.
As I stepped inside the house, I didn’t expect it to be dark.
So, I made my way to turn on the lights, but I stopped in my steps when I saw lights coming from the kitchen.
“Matteo?” I called out, walking into the kitchen.
My eyes widened as soon as I saw candles on the kitchen island with petals of roses sc***ed on the floor. It was a sight to see, and I was surprised especially when I saw Matteo smiling, wearing a black shirt and pants.
“Is there an occasion?” I asked, looking at him.
He shook his head, cupping my face before leaning in to kiss me passionately on the lips. “No occasion. I just want to try something different with you,”
“What is it?”
“Do you trust me?”
“Should I be worried?”
He chuckled, “No. I just want to focus on you tonight,”
Before I could ask him what he meant, he was already picking me up to place me on the kitchen island. Our lips met immediately, and I was starting to feel the heat. I dropped everything including my bag as I went to run my fingers in his hair.
He didn’t struggle to undress me, throwing my clothes on the floor. My moans were beginning to fill in the kitchen as went down to taste me.
“There’s no stopping you tonight. I’m going to make you come as much as you want,” he said before inserting a finger inside me and I was starting to lose control.
One finger turned into two as he played with my***t. I knew he was good at pleasuring me because I had all the proofs from our past sexual activities, and I knew he wasn’t going to disappoint in any way.

Chapter 19
“Matteo, I want you to f***k me.”
“Patience, baby, I’ll f**k you soon,”
I moaned loudly when a wave of pleasure came over me.
It didn’t take him long to undo his pants and immediately pushed inside. My eyes widened at the sudden tight sensation as he thrusted in and out, letting my body rock on the kitchen island. My breasts weren’t being left alone either.
He was using his hands to squeeze and pinch them.
I was feeling good everywhere.
“Do you hear that, baby? You’re so wet.”
The sounds of sex and our bodies were clear. The sex got dirty quickly, and our kisses turned s**py. I was clinging onto him and surrendering completely letting another wave of pleasure to consume me. I was growing tired, but I was begging for
more.
When I came, he turned me around, so my back was facing him. I received a few s**nks as he continued to thrust and I was gripping hard against the island, letting him spread me wide.
“Matteo, don’t stop.” I was begging at this point, and he satisfied me by doing as told.
I lost count on how many times I actually came because every time I came, he kept switching positions. I never thought it was possible for me to come more than twice without taking breaks, but he made the impossible happened. I was sweaty and shaking.
So was he.
Where did he get all his energy?
I was being picked up; my legs wrapped around his waist as he continued. He switched into positions that I never tried before. I was having a lot of firsts with him, and he didn’t even know.
I closed my eyes, another wave hit me.
And just in time, he met his own wave of pleasure.
But what surprised me was the words he uttered as he came, “I love you.”
