A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 4664

Upon hearing Rex's words, Cian couldn't help but burst into laughter. His smile was so radiant, it was almost unnerving. The sight of it sent a shiver down Rex's spine.

“Cian, why are you laughing? Is there something wrong with the method I proposed? If you think a fifty-fifty split isn't appropriate, we can go sixty-forty. I'll take forty and you take sixty. How does that sound?” Rex continued.

“Rex, have you ever seen me fight over anything with you all these years? Despite being given the grueling task of guarding the prison, I never complained! But don't take me for a fool. You led a grand procession out of the city, thinking I wouldn't notice? You fought with Jaime, and both of you got hurt. Do you think I didn't know about that? You were beaten by an Ultimate Realm Level One youngster to the point of spitting blood continuously. Do you think I'm unaware of that? Why discuss cooperation with me? You couldn't handle Jaime, and now you're dragging me into this mess. I'm not that naive. While the celestial crystal vein mine is impressive, I know my own limits and don't want it. If you desire it, fight for it with your own abilities. Rest assured, even if Jaime comes looking for me, I won't help him.”

Rex's face instantly turned red in embarrassment.

“Cian, aren't you going to reconsider? I'm willing to increase your share!”

If it were solely based on the power of the Buckley family, it would likely be incredibly difficult to reclaim the celestial crystal vein mine.

“See him out!” Cian commanded.

At that moment, the butler walked in. “General Rex, this way please...”

Rex wanted to continue persuading him. But upon noticing Cian's demeanor, he ultimately closed his mouth, turned around, and walked out.

Cian watched Rex's retreating figure and sneered, “Trying to play mind games with me, do you think I'm a fool?”

Rex stormed out of Everett Manor, seething with anger.

Not only did he fail to enlist Cian's help, but he also ended up causing the death of his favorite woman.

He felt as if he had suffered a double loss.

However, there was nothing he could do. Cian seemed to know everything, which made cooperation with him extremely difficult.

“General Rex, did General Cian refuse?” the butler of the Buckley family asked.
