Chapter 106: HALLUCINATION

[She said that those people looked for you to kill you, alpha.] Gayle mindlinked Khaos as they went to the woods, where Zuri had gone.

[Why she thought that way?]

[I don't know, she only kept muttering the same thing over and over again, but when I asked, she didn't answer me.]

Khaos immediately knew that Zuri was having one of her episodes. Not only she heard voices and saw things that were not supposed to be there, but she created a story in her mind too.

The fact that she believed that, was what bothered Khaos. From the look of it, she had a hard time to differentiate what was real and what was not.

This was the side effect of the curses that was put on her and because she didn't have the medicine, it only got worse rapidly.

There were still a lot of information that Khaos needed to learn about this beauty blood, but he couldn't stay away for long.

Once they reached the woods, they met with the other three warriors that Gayle had sent to look for Zuri.

"I am sorry, alpha, we can't find her. Her trace was already covered with snow," one of the warriors reported.

"I know this wood. I will look for her myself," Rhett said and then shifted into his beast again to search for Zuri alone.

"Send more people, I want the entire wood to be covered," Khaos ordered his warriors, as he shifted into his beast and started to look for her as well.

The warrior was right, because of the snow last night, the entire ground had covered with it and the cold weather made it hard for them to trace her scent.

However, as a lycan, his senses were more profound. It took a while, but he managed to catch her scent on the bark of tree that she touched.

Following her scent, Khaos found Zuri was sitting under a maple tree, rocking herself back and forth with her eyes closed. She sang to herself in low voice.

She looked worn out, probably because she had been running around the entire night in the wood. Her dress was so dirty and her hair was messy.

Khaos sighed in relief to see her and then approached her carefully. He knelt down in front of her and only then Zuri opened her eyes.

She stopped singing and rocking her body, her eyes glued to him.

"Let's go back home," Khaos said, he brushed a few strands of hair away from her face.

By now, the sun had risen, illuminating all the dark corners of the wood. The ray of the sun fell on her face and she squinted her eyes slightly.

"Is that really you? Or am I seeing thing again?" Zuri asked, her voice was hoarse, she looked very tired.
