Dezgar came when Khaos summoned him, he was the new leader for the magic user for the cult after the alpha punished Elijah for his wrongdoings toward Zuri.
Rhett looked relief when he saw Dezgar, because he was part of the cult, he had been with them for more than a decade, he knew better than to run his mouth carelessly.
From the outside, it looked like Rhett disobeyed Khaos and his loyalty was questionable, but in his opinion, he was doing the right thing, because Khaos couldn’t think clearly right now, as his attachment toward Zuri grew stronger.
This was necessary. The alpha would thank him once everything was over and his judgment was no longer clouded.
For now, the cult had to move against the alpha, but their ultimate goal was still for the lycan’s best interest.
"Tell me where is Zuri," Khaos said calmly. "Tell me the truth now."
Dezgar glanced at Rhett for a brief moment, he knew how Rhett wanted him to answer the question, he knew the goal of the cult and the right thing to do, but the word that came out of his mouth made Rhett’s jaw dropped.
"They took the luna out of the pack house, to the small hut near the port and keep her there," Dezgar replied.
"Dezgar!" Rhett roared, he marched toward the magic user, but Khaos pushed him hard enough to make him stumbled and fell on his butt. "How could you!?"
Rhett was in disbelief. This was a betrayal for the cult.
"Come with me."
Khaos didn’t waste another second when he ordered the magic user to show the way to him. It annoyed him so much that he couldn’t shift into his beast and move faster, instead he had to take the horse and a few of his warriors to come with him.
His beta came with him too when he learned Khaos managed to dig information about Zuri’s whereabouts.
Rhett followed behind them. He didn’t make his existence obvious, but of course, Khaos knew he was nearby and the fact the alpha didn’t say anything, encouraged Rhett to come with them.
Wrath was the only thing that waited for him once Khaos saw Zuri’s condition right now. Even he himself couldn’t stand the sight of her. She was very distracted and her hallucination was getting worse because she was separated from Khaos.
Needless to say, Khaos would unleash hell once they were there, more so, he needed to know why Dezgar betrayed the cult like this. It was a clear instruction.
