When the magic users started to inflicted the curse on Zuri, she screamed.
She screamed on the top of her lungs, she cried so hard, but the only thing she could hear was the scream inside her head, since from outside her body had stopped responding.
Time went still for her. She was trapped, in her own mind and her own soul.
Her own body had turned into a prison for her and Zuri felt like she was going to die when they dissected her inside. This last curse was the worse than anything she had ever felt all this time.
And when her mind withdrawn inside her consciousness, to get away from the pain and looked for some memory to hold on until the torture ended, there she saw that girl again.
It was her, that young woman had the same face like Zuri, but she was in so much pain, looked sick, as she curled her body on the floor.
Fidgeting, whimpering, looked so beautiful, which only made Zuri want to kick her away. She then approached her and when she touched her, the other young woman lifted her head and look at Zuri with those scary red eyes.
Those eyes were very red as if they were coated with blood.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
Zuri felt like she was seeing her own reflection on the mirror when the other woman stretched out her hand to touch Zuri.
This pathetic woman had the same face like her. It could be said that it was her, but in her worst condition possible. She was crying and when the tears trickled down her cheek, it was blood.
Zuri felt the urge to slap away, her hand that reached out to touch her, but for some reason she was in awe, or probably she was dumbstruck by what she was seeing right now.
This woman, this young woman, who had the same face like her, whimpering.
Zuri was not sure whether her impostor could see her clearly or not with all the blood in her eyes. But she kept asking her with the same question.
"Why are you here? Why are you here? Don’t be here. Go! Go away."
That’s the world she kept repeating over and over again. Zuri wanted to scream at her.
Where should I go?! I have nowhere to go!
She was so distracted by the fact this woman looked so much in pain just like her. Was this how she looked like when she was in pain, when she was in her crazy state? Because right now, she was also in so much pain. Those magic users were going to put her through hell again.
And then suddenly there was this sharp pain in Zuri’s chest. She couldn’t breathe.
Zuri doubled down. She screamed so loud, but there was no word that coming out of her mouth. She was crying so hard, yet when she wanted to speak, she had no voice.
