His whole body was trembling and he lowered his head unconsciously. He couldn’t deny the strong urge to flee. That was his survival instinct that told him to save his life.
Meanwhile, Khaos walked toward them. He stopped three steps away from Caiden and Gayle.
"So, you are here?" He tilted his head. Not only his presence and his appearance that changed, but his voice too. It was deeper and heavier. "I don’t remember, I allow you to come."
Caiden lowered his head even more, his chin touched his chest. He teeth cluttered, Khaos’s presence was very strong to the point it was suffocating. How could that be possible?
Yet, despite the fear that exuded from Khaos, Caiden steeled his heart as he had to ask Khaos about his father.
"Khaos, please..." his voice was small, he was stuttering. "I- I need to k- know..."
Khaos looked very callous and calculative. He tilted his head, as if he was thinking what to say. "So, do you want to see your father, Caiden?" There was this tinge of amusement in his voice. "Fine." He nodded. "I will let you see him."
Gayle and Caiden were surprised, they didn’t even think Khaos would let Caidan to see Ezra. Didn’t he die? Or did they make a mistake?
But then before they could respond to the suggestion, Khaos already opened his palm, as the shadow move around his body, as if he was in control of this creature and suddenly from the black shadow that looked darker than the night, a figure emerged from it and Caidan felt like his heart stopped beating.
The shadow looked like a dark liquid, its texture looked like a big pool of black ink in Caiden and Gayle’s eyes and from within it, a figure emerged. This figure came to the surface.
It was Caiden’s father. Ezra...
At first it was only the shadows around Khaos that expanded. It looked like a really disturbing sight, where the shadow turned into a living creature and from within, Ezra’s figure emerged from it.
The shadow created an illusion like a dark waterfall. They could see nothing, but this darkness behind the lycan.
At first Caidan and Gayle couldn’t see who was that, but after they realized the feature of that man, which slowly reconstructed into someone they knew and then lifted his head, they gasped. Horror filled their eyes. It was Ezra.
Obviously, Gayle and Caiden were dumbstruck with the realization, they didn’t think they would see Ezra in such situation. That man was standing there, look like he was alive, but there was no life in his dull eyes at all.
His eyes were empty, they were dead.
"W- What? W- What is going on?"
Caiden and Gayle asked at the same time.
"How? H- How can this be possible?" Caiden shook his head as if he was trying to get rid of the image. It disturbed him, and he couldn’t help it.
It was very disturbing to know that your father, whom you thought had died, actually was still alive. And here he was.
